Jakob Lorentzen
Jakob Lorentzen (born 1968) is a Danish organ soloist and chamber musician. He is organist and choir master of the Holmen Church (The Royal Naval Church in Copenhagen) and Master of the music at Christiansborg Palace Chapel, both principal churches in the Copenhagen city. Jakob Lorentzen graduated as a 14 year old in 1982 with the preliminary organist exam from the Seminary of Zahle in Copenhagen, where he was a pupil of Carl Riess and hereby became the youngest graduate organist in Denmark. He received his undergraduate diploma at the Royal Danish Academy of Music. In 1992, he moved to Paris, where he became organist at the Danish Church and he studied piano (Christine Paraschos), improvisation (Pierre Cogen) and organ (Susan Landale) in the soloist class at the music conservatory. At the final exam in 1995 he was unanimously awarded the 1st prize of virtuosity by the jury ("Prix de Virtuosité à l'Unanimité + Félicitations"). Holmen Church
The Holmen Church ( da, Holmens Kirke) is a Parish church in central Copenhagen in Denmark, on the street called Holmens Kanal. First built as an anchor forge in 1563, it was converted into a naval church by Christian IV. It is famous for having hosted the wedding between Margrethe II of Denmark, current queen of Denmark, and Prince Henrik in 1967. It is the burial site of such notabilities as naval heroes Niels Juel and Peter Tordenskjold, and composer Niels Wilhelm Gade, and contains artwork by, among others, Bertel Thorvaldsen and Karel van Mander. The church building The appearance of the Holmen Church today closely resembles that of the renovation in 1872, except for the colour. The windows are in clear glass and predominantly set in iron. Mogens Dahl Chamber Choir
Mogens Dahl Chamber Choir is a professional vocal ensemble founded in 2005 in Copenhagen. The choir consists of 16 classically trained singers from all over Scandinavia, and was founded in 2005 in conjunction with the conductor, Mogens Dahl's, establishment of Mogens Dahl Concert Hall at Islands Brygge in Copenhagen. Mogens Dahl Chamber Choir has its artistic focus on Nordic and romantic music. The choir has also often new music in the repertoire, dedicated to the choir from Scandinavian composers. The ensemble has toured both at home and abroad in cooperation with festivals, soloists and ensembles within many genres and contexts.
