The Jain Temple, Dubai (referred to locally as Derasar) is a house temple (ghar derasar) in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE). About temple The temple caters for the large Jain community in the United Arab Emirates and is the only Shewtambar Jain temple in Bur Dubai, where most of the Jains reside. The temple complex has Lord Vimalanatha, the thirteenth Jain Tirthankar as Moolnayak, Lord Parshwanath, the twenty third Tirthankar and Lord Sumatinath, the Fifth Tirthankar. Padmavati mata moorti is also there in this temple. There are more than 10,000 Jains in Dubai as of 2012. Vimalanatha was the thirteenth Jain Tirthankara of the present age (Avasarpini). According to Jain beliefs, he became a Siddha, a liberated soul which has destroyed all of its karma. Vimalanatha was born to King Kratavarma and Queen Shyamadevi at Kampilya of the Ikshvaku dynasty. His birth date was the third day of the Magh Sukla month of the Indian calendar. House Temple
A house temple (Ghar Derasar or Griha Chaityalaya) is a private Jain shrine that is placed within a personal residence. Sometimes it is separate room or structure in a compound. Jain scholars prescribe that the height of a pratima in a house shrine should not exceed 11 aṅgulas, i.e. about 21 cm. The formal communal temple is often referred to as a shikharbandi Jinalaya, i.e. with a shikhara. Sometimes a temple starts as a house temple, which grows into a formal shikharbandi Jinalaya when the community grows to be sufficiently large. Parshwanath
''Parshvanatha'' (), also known as ''Parshva'' () and ''Parasnath'', was the 23rd of 24 ''Tirthankaras'' (supreme preacher of Dharma (Jainism), dharma) of Jainism.
