Jahkeele Marshall-Rutty
Jahkeele Stanford Jack Marshall-Rutty (born June 16, 2004) is a Canadian professional soccer player who plays as a winger for Major League Soccer club Toronto FC. Early life Marshall-Rutty began playing youth soccer with Brampton East SC when he was seven. He later moved to the Rush Canada Academy. He began playing for Toronto FC Academy in the USSDA in the 2016–2017 season, playing for the U13 team. He has since played for the U15, U16/17 and U18/19 teams as well. Club career Marshall-Rutty signed with Toronto FC II on December 17, 2018, becoming the youngest homegrown player to sign with the club. He made his professional debut for Toronto FC II in USL League One on June 28, 2019, coming on as an 86th minute substitute for Jordan Faria against Forward Madison FC. Leagues Cup
The Leagues Cup is an annual association football competition between clubs from Major League Soccer and Liga MX in North America. It debuted in July 2019 with four teams participating from each league. The first edition was a single-elimination tournament hosted in the United States with a final played in Las Vegas on September 18, 2019. Beginning in 2023, the tournament will be expanded to include all clubs from MLS and Liga MX, and will function as the regional cup for the North American zone within CONCACAF, with the top three teams qualifying for the CONCACAF Champions League. 2021 Toronto FC Season
The 2021 Toronto FC season was the 15th season in the history of Toronto FC. Due to COVID-19 cross-border restrictions imposed by the Canadian government, Toronto FC, along with the two other Canadian MLS teams ( CF Montréal and the Vancouver Whitecaps FC), played in the United States at the beginning of the season while also sharing stadiums with other American MLS teams. From April 17 until July 16, Toronto FC played home matches at Orlando City SC's Exploria Stadium in Orlando, Florida. On July 14, MLS announced that Toronto FC were allowed to play two home matches on July 17 and 21, although they continued to work with the Canadian Government regarding plans on future home matches. Outside of the MLS season, Toronto finished as the runners-up of the 2021 Canadian Championship after losing the final to rivals CF Montréal 1–0. 2020 Toronto FC Season
The 2020 Toronto FC season was the 14th season in the history of Toronto FC. The club entered the season as defending MLS Eastern Conference champions. They were scheduled to compete for the first time in the Leagues Cup, however it was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. They participated in the MLS is Back Tournament, which was the beginning of the resumed season following the postponement of regular season matches due to the pandemic. On September 11, 2020, Connecticut governor Ned Lamont announced that Toronto FC would finish their season's home matches at Pratt & Whitney Stadium due to travel restrictions outside the United States due to the pandemic. Membertou First Nation
The Membertou First Nation is a Mi'kmaq First Nation band government in the tribal district of Unama'ki, also known as Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia. As of 2012, the Mi'kmaq population is 814 on-Reserve, and approximately 481 off-Reserve. It operates a community radio station CJIJ-FM.
