Jagrata Muslim Janata Bangladesh
Jagrata Muslim Janata Bangladesh ("Awakened Muslim Masses of Bangladesh", abbreviated: JMJB), is an Islamism, Islamist extremist group operating in and around northwestern Bangladesh. The Government of Bangladesh has banned the JMJB, classifying it as a terrorist organization. It is described by Bangladeshi police as an offshoot of the related Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh outfit. Early history Formed between 2003 and 2004 in Rajshahi District's Bagmara Upazila, the organization initially received support from some government officials, in hopes they would target other insurgents operating in the country. The group also attacked Bangladesh Awami League, Awami League politicians with the support of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party and Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami leadership. Shaykh Abdur Rahman
Shaykh Abdur Rahman, also known as Abdur Rahman Shaykh, (died 30 March 2007) was the leader and the administrative head of the banned terrorist organization Jagrata Muslim Janata Bangladesh ( en, Awakened Muslim Masses of Bangladesh). Biography Rahman was educated in Islamic fiqh and law at Saudi Arabia. After being highly critical of the Jamaat-e-Islami Bangladesh for what he deemed as its patronization of secularism and sacrilege of Islamic values and principles, he soon formed the JMJB, taking initiatives to form an all-Islamic state based upon only the Qur'an and the Sunnah. Purbo Banglar Communist Party
The Purbo Banglar Communist Party (East Bengal Communist Party) or PBCP is an outlawed Communist Party in Bangladesh. The PBCP formed in 1968 following a split in the Bangladesh Communist Party. It is mainly active in the areas of Khulna and Jessore in the South West of Bangladesh near the border of the Indian state of West Bengal where CPI-Maoist Naxalite insurgents have been active in an ongoing Civil War against the Indian state. Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami ( bn, বাংলাদেশ জামায়াতে ইসলামী, Bānglādēsh Jāmāyatē Islāmī, Bangladesh Islamic Assembly), previously known as Jamaat-e-Islami Bangladesh, or Jamaat for short, was the largest Islamist political party in Bangladesh. Rapid Action Battalion
Rapid Action Battalion or RAB, is an anti-crime and anti-terrorism unit of the Bangladesh Police. This elite force consists of members of the Bangladesh Army, Bangladesh Police, Bangladesh Navy, Bangladesh Air Force, Border Guard Bangladesh, Bangladesh Civil Service and Bangladesh Ansar.
