Jack Warren Pierce (born September 23, 1962 in Cherry Hill, New Jersey) is an American former hurdler, hurdling athlete Raised in Woodbury, New Jersey, he graduated Woodbury Junior-Senior High School, Woodbury High School in 1980. He attended the Morgan State University on a track scholarship. He stands and during his Olympic competition he weighed . At the 1991 World Championships, Pierce placed second behind Greg Foster (hurdler), Greg Foster, and at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Pierce finished third. Jack's personal best time was 12.94 seconds. He was coached by Norman Tate, a former triple jumper who competed at the 1968 Mexico City Olympics. Jack Pierce (born Yiannis Pikoulas; May 5, 1889 – July 19, 1968) was a Hollywood make-up artist best remembered for creating the iconic makeup worn by Boris Karloff in ''Frankenstein'' (1931), along with various other classic monster make-ups for Universal Studios. Early career After immigrating to the United States from his native Greece as a teenager, Pierce tried his hand at several careers, including a stint as an amateur baseball player. In the 1920s, Pierce embarked on a series of jobs in cinema—cinema manager, stuntman, actor, even assistant director—which would eventually lead to his mastery of the field of makeup. The small-statured Pierce was never a "leading man"-type, and he put his performing career aside to specialize in make-up for other performers. Lavern Jack Pierce (June 2, 1949 – September 13, 2012) was an American professional baseball player. Pierce played in parts of three seasons in the majors from until with the Atlanta Braves and Detroit Tigers. He also played with the Nankai Hawks in Japan in 1977. However, Pierce is better known for his exploits in minor league baseball. As of 1998, he ranked ninth all-time in minor league home runs with 395. John Michael "Jack" Pierce (22 February 1924 – 8 June 1991) was a Canadian oilman. Pierce was the president and chairman of Ranger Oil Limited, an oil and gas company based in Calgary, Alberta. He is best known for co-leading the 1974 discovery of the 1.2 billion barrel Ninian Oil Field in the North Sea. The Pierce Field, located in blocks 23/22a and 23/27a of the North Sea, is named in his honour. Franklin "Jack" Pierce (May 24, 1937 – November 22, 2022) was a politician in Ontario, Canada. He was a Progressive Conservative member of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 1985 to 1987 who represented the northern Ontario riding of Rainy River. Background Pierce was born in Fort Frances, Ontario, and educated in the area. He worked as an electrician. Politics Pierce served as reeve and councillor for Atikokan Township. He sought election to the Ontario legislature for Rainy River in the 1981 provincial election but lost to Pat Reid of the Liberal Party by 426 votes. He supported Frank Miller in his bid for party leader in early 1985. Pierce tried again in the 1985 election.
