Jack Lalor
Leinster Lightning is one of three provincial cricket teams in Ireland. Along with the North West Warriors and Northern Knights it makes up the Inter-Provincial Championship, Interprovincial One-Day Trophy and Interprovincial Twenty20 Cup. The team is located in Leinster province of Ireland and is managed by Cricket Leinster. History In 2013, Cricket Ireland formed the three-day Interprovincial Championship, featuring teams from Leinster, the NCU and the North West. The Leinster team is known as Leinster Lightning. In February 2015, they announced Ted Williamson as their coach, taking over at the helm from Trent Johnston. Under his coaching, Leinster Lightning took a clean-sweep of trophies in the 2015 and 2016 seasons before he stepped down from the position. Up to and including the 2016 Inter-Provincial Championship, the matches were not given first-class status. George Dockrell
George Henry Dockrell (born 22 July 1992) is an Irish cricketer. Dockrell is right-handed batsman and slow left-arm orthodox bowler who plays international cricket for Ireland after learning his cricket at Leinster Cricket Club, Dublin. He was a member of the class of 2010 in Gonzaga College, Dublin. In December 2018, he was one of nineteen players to be awarded a central contract by Cricket Ireland for the 2019 season. In January 2020, he was one of nineteen players to be awarded a central contract from Cricket Ireland, the first year in which all contracts were awarded on a full-time basis. Early career Dockrell has represented Ireland from U-13 level upwards. In 2009, Dockrell was part of the 2010 U-19 Cricket World Cup Qualifier winning squad. Trent Johnston
David Trent Johnston (born 29 April 1974) is an Irish-Australian cricket coach and former player. He was born in Wollongong, New South Wales, and played his early cricket for New South Wales in Australian domestic competitions. A right-handed batsman and right-arm fast-medium bowler, he later moved to Ireland, and made his debut for the Ireland cricket team in 2004. Johnston was subsequently named captain of Ireland, and was a regular fixture in the national team until his retirement in 2013. He coached the Hong Kong national cricket team from 2019 to 2022. Playing career New South Wales Johnston made his first-class debut for New South Wales in a Sheffield Shield match against Tasmania in March 1999. 2017 Inter-Provincial Cup
The 2017 Inter-Provincial Cup was the fifth edition of the Inter-Provincial Cup, a List A cricket competition played in Ireland. It was held from 1 May to 10 September 2017. It was the first edition of the competition to be played with List A status, following the outcome of a meeting by the International Cricket Council (ICC) in October 2016. Three teams competed; Leinster Lightning, North West Warriors and Northern Knights, with Leinster Lightning being the defending champions. Leinster Lightning retained their title, after North West Warriors won their match against Northern Knights on 6 August, giving Leinster Lightning an unassailable lead in the competition. The 2014 Inter-Provincial Cup is the second season of the Inter-Provincial Cup, the domestic List A cricket competition of Ireland. The competition is played between Leinster Lightning, Northern Knights and North-West Warriors. The Leinster Lightning won this year's competition with a game to spare, after beating the Northern Knights at Waringstown. In the final match of the season, at Rathmines against the same opposition, the Lightning won again to finish the competition with a 100% record of four wins out of four. Inter-Provincial Cup
The Inter-Provincial Cup is a limited-overs cricket tournament in Ireland between the four leading cricketing provinces of Ireland. The tournament was held for the first time in 2013 across venues in both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. The 2019 Inter-Provincial Championship, known for sponsorship reasons as the Test Triangle Inter-Provincial Championship, was the seventh edition of the Inter-Provincial Championship, a first-class cricket competition played in Ireland. It took place from 28 May to 29 August 2019. It was the third edition of the competition to be played with first-class status. North West Warriors were the defending champions. The tournament was heavily affected by rain, with none of the games being completed. Only six days of play across the eighteen that were scheduled took place. The 2013 Interprovincial Championship was the first season of the Inter-Provincial Championship, the domestic multi-day cricket competition of Ireland. The competition was between Leinster Lightning, Northern Knights and North West Warriors.
