2017 Inter-Provincial Cup
The 2017 Inter-Provincial Cup was the fifth edition of the Inter-Provincial Cup, a List A cricket competition played in Ireland. It was held from 1 May to 10 September 2017. It was the first edition of the competition to be played with List A status, following the outcome of a meeting by the International Cricket Council (ICC) in October 2016. Three teams competed; Leinster Lightning, North West Warriors and Northern Knights, with Leinster Lightning being the defending champions. Leinster Lightning retained their title, after North West Warriors won their match against Northern Knights on 6 August, giving Leinster Lightning an unassailable lead in the competition. Cricket Ireland, officially the Irish Cricket Union, is the national governing body for cricket on the island of Ireland (both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland), and oversees the national men's and women's cricket teams. The Vineyard, Dublin
The Vineyard is a cricket ground in Dublin, Ireland. In local domestic cricket, the ground is the home of The Hills Cricket Club. The first recorded match on the ground was in 1992, when Munster played North Leinster. In 2005, the ground hosted two List A matches in the 2005 ICC Trophy. The first of these saw Bermuda play Scotland, which resulted in a Scottish victory by 6 wickets. The second of these saw Denmark play Namibia, which resulted 103 run victory for Namibia. New Strabane Park
New Strabane Park is a cricket ground in Strabane, Northern Ireland. History The ground was established in 2008 as a replacement for the original Strabane Park, which is now the site of an ASDA superstore. The first major match played on the ground came nine years later in a List A match between North West Warriors and Northern Knights in the 2017 Inter-Provincial Cup, with the match ending in no result due to rain. Later that season North West Warriors played a Twenty20 match at the ground against Northern Knights in the Inter-Provincial Trophy. In cricket, a batter is not out if they come out to bat in an innings and have not been dismissed by the end of an innings. The batter is also ''not out'' while their innings is still in progress. Occurrence At least one batter is not out at the end of every innings, because once ten batters are out, the eleventh has no partner to bat on with so the innings ends. Usually two batters finish not out if the batting side declares in first-class cricket, and often at the end of the scheduled number of overs in limited overs cricket.
