Jaak Huimerind
Jaak Huimerind (born 4 May 1957) is an Estonian architect. From 1975 Huimerind studied in the State Art Institute of Estonian SSR in the department of architecture. He graduated from the institute in 1980. From 1980 to 1987 Huimerind worked in the state design office Eesti Kommunaalprojekt (Estonian Communal Design). From 1987 to 1993 he worked in the concern ESTAR-PREEV. At the moment Jaak Huimerind works at the Studio Paralleel OÜ architectural bureau. Most notable works by Huimerind are Järve Center and the Lohusalu Cafe. In addition he is the author of numerous single-family homes around Estonia. Jaak Huimerind is a member of the Union of Estonian Architects. Tartu
Tartu is the second largest city in Estonia after the Northern European country's political and financial capital, Tallinn. Tartu has a population of 91,407 (as of 2021). Estonians or Estonian people ( et, eestlased) are a Finnic ethnic group native to Estonia who speak the Estonian language. The Estonian language is spoken as the first language by the vast majority of Estonians; it is closely related to other Finnic languages, e.g. Finnish, Karelian and Livonian. The Finnic languages are a subgroup of the larger Uralic family of languages, which also includes, e.g., the Sami languages. An architect is a person who plans, designs and oversees the construction of buildings. To practice architecture means to provide services in connection with the design of buildings and the space within the site surrounding the buildings that have human occupancy or use as their principal purpose. Union of Estonian Architects (or Estonian Association of Architects, EAA; et, Eesti Arhitektide Liit) organizes architects, landscape architects and architecture researchers. EAA re-established 27 June 1989. EAA is a legal successor of ''Estonian Association of Architects'', which was established on 8 October 1921. Since 2010 the head of EAA is Peeter Pere. Every year EAA gives out annual prize to Estonian architects or to Estonian architectural firms who have projected the most notable structure in the past year. Nõmme
Nõmme ( Estonian for ''"Heath"'') is one of the 8 administrative districts ( et, linnaosa) of Tallinn, the capital of Estonia. It has a population of 39,422 () and covers an area of , population density is . The district is largely a middle-class suburban area, mostly consisting of listed private homes from the 1920s and 1930s and is sometimes referred to as the "Forest Town." Kuressaare () is a town on Saaremaa island in Estonia. It is the administrative centre of Saaremaa Parish and the capital of Saare County. Kuressaare is the westernmost town in Estonia. Mari Kurismaa (born 19 April 1956 in Pärnu) is an Estonian interior architect and painter. In 1979 she graduated from Estonian State Art Institute in interior architecture. 1980s and 1990s she was focused on painting. In the late 1990s he focused again on interior architecture. Lasnamäe
Lasnamäe is the most populous administrative district of Tallinn, the capital of Estonia. The district's population is about 119,000, the majority of which is Russian-speaking. Local housing is mostly represented by 5–16 stories high panel blocks of flats, built in the 1970–1990s. The district lies in the eastern part of Tallinn. In the east it is bordered by the Pirita River; in the north and northwest a limestone escarpment (part of the Baltic Klint) separates Lasnamäe from Pirita and Kesklinn. The district is situated on a flat limestone plateau that lies 30–52 m above sea level. The highest point in Lasnamäe is the Sõjamägi Hill at 54 m asl. Peetri, Harju County
Peetri (also ''Peetriküla'' in spoken language) is a small borough ( et, alevik) in Rae Parish, Harju County, in northern Estonia. It is bordered by the city of Tallinn. According to official population registration Peetri had 5,859 inhabitants on 1 January 2021. According to last public census, population of Peetri was 4.435 inhabitants on December 31, 2011. According to the census data, share of ethnic Estonians was 82.8%; 17.2% were non-Estonians. There are more than 500 dwelling buildings in Peetri, which includes several tens of apartment blocks. Estonian Encyclopaedia Publishers ( et, Eesti Entsüklopeediakirjastus) was an Estonian publisher which published reference literature (like encyclopedias, atlases) and popular science literature. As of 2009 publisher's main shareholders were Hardo Aasmäe (owned 25.6%), (owned 20.4%), and Ülo Kaevats (owned 12.0%). In 2011 the publisher went bankrupt. However, the bankruptcy proceedings got stuck because the owner of the publishing house's last office, Ülemiste City, confiscated the property in the company's office and sold it to cover the 9,000-euro rent debt. Bankruptcy administrator Tiina Mitt estimated its value at over 4.3 million euros. The location of sold documents, author contracts and books under editing is unknown.
