Itbayat
Itbayat, officially the Municipality of Itbayat, ( ivv, Kavahayan nu Itbayat; tl, Bayan ng Itbayat), is a 5th class municipality in the province of Batanes, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 3,128 people. Itbayat is the country's northernmost municipality, located from the southernmost tip of Taiwan. In addition to the main island of Itbayat which is the largest in Batanes, the municipality includes the rest of the province's northern islands, all small and mostly uninhabited. These islands are, from south to north: Di'nem Island, Siayan, Misanga, Ah'li, and Mavulis Island, the northernmost island of the Philippine archipelago. Batanes
Batanes, officially the Province of Batanes ( ivv, Provinsiya nu Batanes; Ilocano: ''Probinsia ti Batanes''; fil, Lalawigan ng Batanes, ), is an archipelagic province in the Philippines, administratively part of the Cagayan Valley region. It is the northernmost province in the country, and also the smallest, both in population and land area. The capital is Basco, located on the island of Batan. Itbayat Church
The Santa Maria de Mayan Parish Church, commonly known as the Itbayat Church ( fil, Simbahan ng Itbayat), is a historic church in Itbayat, Batanes, Itbayat, Batanes, Philippines. Background The original structure of the Santa Maria de Mayan Church was made of wood. The original wooden church was built from 1853 to 1858 and was placed under the patronage of the Immaculate Conception. The current church building was built by the Dominican Order, Dominicans. Diogo Island known as Di'nem Island is an uninhabited volcanic island in the province of Batanes, the northernmost province in the Philippines. Siayan Island
Siayan is one of the Batanes Islands. Also known as Ditarem Island in the native language, the island is about 1/2 mile to 3/4 miles in diameter and lies about north-northeastward of Itbayat Island. The closest island is Mavulis Island which is about north-northeastward of Siayan. Internal Revenue Allotment
The Internal Revenue Allotment (IRA) is a local government unit’s (LGU) share of revenues from the Philippine national government. Provinces, independent cities, component cities, municipalities, and barangays each get a separate allotment. The allotment is largely based upon the type of government they are and a formula based upon their land area and population.
