Intercontinental Cup (India)
The Intercontinental Cup (India) (known as the Hero Intercontinental Cup for sponsorship reasons) is a 4-team association football tournament organised by the All India Football Federation (AIFF). It was launched in 2017, as a replacement for Nehru Cup with the first edition held as the 2017 Hero Tri-Nation Series. The tournament was organized by the AIFF as part of the senior men team's preparation for the third round of 2019 AFC Asian Cup qualification matches and for the Asian Cup itself. The tournament naming rights were purchased by Hero MotoCorp which also sponsors the national team. All India Football Federation
The All India Football Federation (AIFF) is the national governing body of football in India. It is a member of FIFA, the international governing body of football and affiliated to Asian Football Confederation. It is affiliated to Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports of Government of India and a member of South Asian Football Federation. AIFF's teams India men's and women's football teams represents India in men's and women's international football tournaments, friendlies respectively. Stephen Constantine
Stephen Constantine (born 16 October 1962) is an English professional football coach and former player who is head coach of Indian Super League club East Bengal. Early and personal life Constantine was born on 16 October 1962 in London. He is of Greek-Cypriot descent. He is a fan of English club Arsenal. Constantine is married with three daughters; his family were living in Cyprus while he was coaching in Sudan. Playing career Constantine played in the United States for the Pennsylvania Stoners and the New York Pancyprian-Freedoms. He retired from playing at the age of 26, following a serious knee injury. The 2019 Intercontinental Cup (known as the 2019 Hero Intercontinental Cup for sponsorship reasons) was the second edition of the '' Intercontinental Cup'', a 4-team association football tournament held at TransStadia Arena in the Indian city of Ahmedabad between the 7th and 19th of July 2019. The tournament was organized by the AIFF. North Korea won the title by a 1–0 victory over Tajikistan in the final. The 2018 Intercontinental Cup (known as the 2018 Hero Intercontinental Cup for sponsorship reasons) was a 4-team association football tournament held at the Mumbai Football Arena in the Indian city of Mumbai between 1 and 10 June 2018. 2019 AFC Asian Cup
The 2019 AFC Asian Cup was the 17th edition of the AFC Asian Cup, the quadrennial international men's football championship of Asia organised by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). It was held in the United Arab Emirates from 5 January to 1 February 2019. For the first time, the Asian Cup final tournament was contested by 24 teams, having been expanded from the 16-team format that was used from 2004 to 2015. Under this new format, the finalists would contest a group stage consisting of six groups of four teams, followed by a knockout stage of 16 teams.
