Immortal Records
Immortal Records was an American independent record label/imprint label based in Los Angeles, California. The company helped launch the careers of such influential acts as Korn, Thirty Seconds To Mars, and Incubus over the years. The label had also released soundtracks, including '' Judgment Night'', ''Spawn'', ''Blade II'' and '' Masters of Horror''. It was distributed by various labels, including Epic, Virgin and RED Distribution. History Immortal Records was founded in 1991 by Amanda Scheer Demme and Happy Walters. Shortly after its inception, the label signed a three-year deal with Epic Records. The label also renewed its contract with the label in 1994 for two years further. In 1997, following the expiration of their two-year renewal Epic re-signed a new five-year deal with the label worth $35 million. Amanda Scheer Demme
Amanda Scheer Demme is an American photographer and creative director. Previously a music supervisor, label owner, and artist manager, she is best known as a nightlife producer. Demme was described by the ''Los Angeles Times'' as an "expert at 'building a room,' choosing a precise mix of guests, sculpting space with light and shadow, and cultivating a mood something akin to performance art." She conceptualized and shot the award-winning #theemptychair image for '' New York'' magazine's 2015 cover story "Bill Cosby: The Women." Demme served as the music supervisor for more than 40 films and television shows, including ''Mean Girls'', '' Garden State'', '' Judgment Night'' and '' Blow''. Origin In 2002, director Mick Garris invited some director friends to an informal dinner at a restaurant in Sherman Oaks, California. The original ten "masters" attending were John Carpenter, Larry Cohen, Don Coscarelli, Joe Dante, Guillermo del Toro, Stuart Gordon, Tobe Hooper, John Landis, Bill Malone, and Garris himself. Far was an American rock band from Sacramento, California, formed in 1991. Although Far only experienced limited commercial success, the band had considerable influence on underground rock music. ''Brothas Doobie'' is the second studio album by Los Angeles-based hip hop group Funkdoobiest. It was released on July 4, 1995 via Epic Records. This was the final album featuring back-up MC and hypeman Tomahawk Funk, who left the group after this release. The album contains the famous and controversial track "Superhoes", which also appeared in the soundtrack to the film ''Friday'', starring N.W.A's Ice Cube. The album has been falsely shown with a blue cover, several times. It has a green color instead. An edited version of the album, which removed most of its explicit language and sexual content, was also released. It completely censored the track "Superhoes", due to references to masturbation and rape, and the track "Pussy Ain't Shit" due to its main graphic theme: the female reproductive organs. Before recording the album, the band was approached by Immortal/Epic Records after a performance at Huntington Beach, California. The band signed to their label because they did not want to "sign away all of their creative freedom". The band would record at Indigo Ranch Studios in Malibu, California with producer Ross Robinson, who also produced their 1993 demo ''Neidermayer's Mind''. He was a member of the Heavyweights crew along with Freestyle Fellowship, Ganjah K, and Medusa, among others.
