Volume 10 (rapper)
Dino Hawkins, known by his stage name Volume 10, is an American rapper from Los Angeles, California. He was a member of the Heavyweights crew along with Freestyle Fellowship, Ganjah K, and Medusa, among others. History Volume 10 was featured on Freestyle Fellowship's 1993 album, ''Innercity Griots''. Volume 10's debut solo single "Pistolgrip-Pump" was released in 1993 to critical acclaim, despite being edited for radio and referred to simply as "Pump" in 1994. The single was later recorded by Rage Against the Machine for their album, '' Renegades''. He released his first album ''Hip-Hopera'' in 1994. The second album, ''Psycho'', was released in 2000. Immortal Records was an American independent record label/imprint label based in Los Angeles, California. The company helped launch the careers of such influential acts as Korn, Thirty Seconds To Mars, and Incubus over the years. The label had also released soundtracks, including '' Judgment Night'', ''Spawn'', ''Blade II'' and ''Masters of Horror''. It was distributed by various labels, including Epic, Virgin and RED Distribution. History Immortal Records was founded in 1991 by Amanda Scheer Demme and Happy Walters. The Baka Boyz, brothers Nick and Eric Vidal, are American radio personalities, music producers and remixers from Bakersfield, California. The duo first achieved fame on the hip-hop/ R&B radio station KPWR (Power 106 FM) in Los Angeles. Lucas MacFadden (born October 4, 1972), better known as Cut Chemist, is an American DJ and record producer. He is a former member of Jurassic 5 and Ozomatli. He has collaborated with DJ Shadow on a number of projects. Early life Cut Chemist graduated from University of California, Los Angeles in 1997. Cut Chemist also attended Glendale Community College and took several drawing and life drawing classes in the early 1990's. Career Cut Chemist became known through the Los Angeles-based rap group Unity Committee. The group merged with another group, Rebels of Rhythm, to form Jurassic 5. In 2004, Cut Chemist released ''The Litmus Test'', which included his solo tracks, remixes, and Jurassic 5 tracks. He left Jurassic 5 in 2004. Craig Anthony Bullock, also known by his stage name DJ Homicide (born December 17, 1970), is an American musician, DJ, rapper, singer, record producer and radio personality. He was the DJ of the rock band Sugar Ray. DJ Homicide hosts The Blast on SKEE 24/7 on Dash Radio. Life and career He was born and raised in Pasadena, California. Along his shoulders is a tattoo that reads "City Of Roses" (a reference to the town's nickname). Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums is a music chart published weekly by '' Billboard'' magazine that ranks R&B and hip hop albums based on sales in the United States and is compiled by Nielsen SoundScan. The chart debuted as Hot R&B LPs in the issue dated January 30, 1965 in an effort by the magazine to further expand into the field of rhythm and blues music. It then went through several name changes, being known as Soul LPs in the 1970s and Top Black Albums in the 1980s, before returning to the R&B identification in 1990 and affixing a hip hop designation in 1999 to reflect the latter's growing sales and relationship to R&B during the decade.
