IYASA
The Inkululeko Yabatsha School of Arts, a combination of Ndebele and English phrase which means Freedom of the Youth, officially known as IYASA, is a Zimbabwean dance group which is based in Bulawayo, the second capital city of Zimbabwe. IYASA was established in 2001 by Nkululeko Innocent Dube. It started as a drama creative group at Mpopoma High School in Bulwayo. It then advanced into a professional platform for young people who have interest in Arts and Culture in 2001. Awards and recognition IYASA has toured many countries including Czech Republic , France, Spain, Australia and Austria. In 2013, three of the group members, Noma Mkhwananzi, Silethemba Magonya, and Pespise Magonya appeared on New York Billboards. Mpopoma High School
Mpopoma High School, which is also known as ''The High School'', is a mixed government day school that is located in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. The school was established in 1959 and is known as one of the best schools in the City of Bulawayo. The school has an annual enrollment of 1500+ students (all of whom are day scholars) and uses the double-shift system to deliver lessons. The School motto is ''Vela Mfundo'' meaning ''Show Up Education (We Embrace You).'' In addition to having notable alumni in many parts of the world, Mpopoma has excelled in both Academics and Sports. Academics Mpopoma High School follows a Zimbabwe School Examinations Council, ZIMSEC curriculum and caters for both GCE Ordinary Level, Ordinary Level ("O" Level) and GCE Advanced Level, advanced ("A") level students. Northern Ndebele Language
Northern Ndebele (), also called Ndebele, isiNdebele saseNyakatho, Zimbabwean Ndebele or North Ndebele, associated with the term Matabele, is a Bantu language spoken by the Northern Ndebele people which belongs to the Nguni group of languages. As a start and to give some context, Ndebele is a term used to refer to a collection of many different African cultures in Zimbabwe. It perhaps by default became a 'language' (for lack of better word) spoken predominantly by the descendants of Mzilikazi. As a language, it is by no means similar to the Ndebele language spoken in kwaNdebele in South Africa although, like many Nguni dialects, some words will be shared. Many of the natives that were colonized by the Matabele were assimilated into Mzilikazi's kingdom to create a version of isiZulu. Bulawayo
Bulawayo (, ; Ndebele: ''Bulawayo'') is the second largest city in Zimbabwe, and the largest city in the country's Matabeleland region. The city's population is disputed; the 2022 census listed it at 665,940, while the Bulawayo City Council claimed it to be about 1.2 million. Bulawayo covers an area of about in the western part of the country, along the Matsheumhlope River. Along with the capital Harare, Bulawayo is one of two cities in Zimbabwe that is also a province. Bulawayo was founded by a group led by Gundwane Ndiweni around 1840 as the kraal of Mzilikazi, the Ndebele king and was known as Gibixhegu. Zimbabwe has many different cultures, which may include beliefs and ceremonies, one of them being Shona. Zimbabwe's largest ethnic group is Shona.
