Isingiro is a town in the Western Region of Uganda. It is the main municipal, administrative, and commercial center of Isingiro District and the site of the district's headquarters. Mbarara–Kikagati Road
The Mbarara–Kikagati Road is in southwestern Uganda, connecting the city of Mbarara in Mbarara District and the town of Kikagati in Isingiro District, at the border between Uganda and Tanzania. The road continues into Tanzania as Highway B182. Location The road starts at Mbarara and then passes through Gayaza, Isingiro, and Kibwera and ends in Kikagati, a distance of approximately . Overview The road, whose total length is , was previously made of unsealed gravel before being converted to class II bitumen surface. Districts Of Uganda
As of 17 November 2020, Uganda is divided into 136 districts and the capital city of Kampala, which are grouped into four administrative regions. Since 2005, the Ugandan government has been in the process of dividing districts into smaller units. This decentralization is intended to prevent resources from being distributed primarily to chief towns and leaving the remainder of each district neglected. Ankole Sub-region
Ankole sub-region is a region in the Western Region of Uganda that consists of the following districts: * Buhweju District * Bushenyi District * Ibanda District * Isingiro District * Kazo District * Kiruhura District * Mbarara District * Mbarara City * Mitooma District * Ntungamo District * Rwampara District * Rubirizi District * Sheema District The area covered by the above districts constituted the traditional Ankole Kingdom. Milton Obote abolished the traditional kingdoms in Uganda in 1967. When Yoweri Museveni re-established them in 1993, Ankole did not re-constitute itself. The sub-region is home mainly to the Ankole ethnic group. The people of Ankole are called Banyankole (singular: Munyankole). The Banyankole speak Runyankole, a Bantu language. Runyankole is very similar to Rukiga, spoken by the people of the neighboring Kigezi sub-region. Mbarara City is a city in the Western Region of Uganda and the second largest city in Uganda after Kampala. Regions Of Uganda
The regions of Uganda are known as Central, Western, Eastern, and Northern. These four regions are in turn divided into districts. There were 56 districts in 2002, which expanded into 111 districts plus one city (Kampala) by 2010. The national government interacts directly with the districts, so regions do not have any definite role in administration. Under British rule before 1962, the regions were functional administrative units and were called provinces, headed by a Provincial Commissioner. The central region is the kingdom of Buganda, which then had a semi-autonomous government headed by the Kabaka (king).
