Iru Mugan
''Iru Mugan'' () is a 2016 Indian Tamil-language science-fiction spy action thriller written and directed by Anand Shankar. Produced by Thameens Films, the film stars Vikram in double role alongside Nayanthara, Nithya Menen, Nassar, Thambi Ramaiah, Karunakaran and Riythvika. Vikram plays a dual role character for the first time, as ''Akhilan Vinod'', a suspended RAW agent who is on a mission to track down a wanted criminal scientist called ''Love'', who illegally supplies inhalers which contain ''"speed drug"'' for terrorists. The film went through significant changes in pre-production of the cast, crew members and producers. Principal photography commenced in December 2015. The major portion of the film was shot in Malaysia, and few scenes were shot in Chennai, Bangkok, Ladakh and Kashmir. Harris Jayaraj composed the film's soundtrack and score, while R. D. Anand Shankar
Anand Shankar is an Indian film director and screenwriter, primarily working in Tamil cinema. Shankar started his career as an assistant director to Siddharth Anand in '' Anjaana Anjaani'' (2010). He also assisted producer-director AR Murugadoss in movies such as ''Thuppakki'' and ''7aum Arivu''. He successfully finished his work as debut director on ''Arima Nambi'' starring Vikram Prabhu and Priya Anand, a Tamil thriller film. He directed ''Iru Mugan'' and Arima Nambi, both of them became blockbusters at the box-office. In 2018, he directed ''NOTA'', starring Vijay Devarkonda in his Tamil debut.
