Irina Tarasova
Irina Ivanovna Tarasova (russian: Ирина Ивановна Тарасова; born 15 April 1987, Kovrov) is a Russian shot putter. Tarasova's results from the 2012 Olympic Games, where she originally finished ninth, were annulled for doping violation by the Athletics Integrity Unit in August 2022. All results from July 4, 2012 to July 12, 2016, were cancelled. This also included stripping of the gold (2015) and silver (2014) medals that she won at the European team championships. Kovrov (russian: Ковро́в) is a city in Vladimir Oblast, Russia, located on the right bank of the Klyazma River, a tributary of the Oka. 2012 European Athletics Championships
The 2012 European Athletics Championships were held in Helsinki, Finland between 27 June and 1 July 2012. This edition marks the beginning of a new two-year cycle of the European Athletics Championships which were previously held every four years. The decision to grant the games for Helsinki was made by the European Athletics Congress on 9 November 2009. Another city that showed interest in hosting the event was Nuremberg, Germany, however Helsinki was in pole position during the whole process. This was the third time that the city had hosted the event, 1971 and 1994 being the other occasions. 2012 IAAF World Indoor Championships – Women's Triple Jump
The women's triple jump at the 2012 IAAF World Indoor Championships took place March 9 and 10 at the Ataköy Athletics Arena. Ageless wonder 39-year-old Yamilé Aldama improved upon her already pending W35 World Record in qualifying. In the second attempt of the finals, she exceeded the existing record by 31 cm, which also proved to good enough for the win. While this competition is indoors, since 2000 IAAF rules allow for indoor records to count for overall (outdoor) records. 2012 IAAF World Indoor Championships
The 2012 IAAF World Indoor Championships in Athletics was the 14th edition of the global-level indoor track and field competition and was held between March 9–11, 2012 at the Ataköy Athletics Arena in Istanbul, Turkey. It was the first of four IAAF World Athletics Series events in 2012, which includes the World Race Walking Cup, the World Junior Championships and the World Half Marathon Championships. Preparation The IAAF announced on March 25, 2007, at an IAAF Council meeting in Mombasa, Kenya that it had received bids from Turkey and Qatar to host the 2010 IAAF World Indoor Championships. In November 2007 at an IAAF Council meeting in Monaco, Doha was selected to host the 2010 edition, but due to the quality of the Istanbul bid, the Turkish city was chosen to host the following edition of the competition in 2012.
