Iowa's 5th State Senate district is located in Northwestern Iowa. It is currently composed of Dickinson County, Iowa, Dickinson, Emmet County, Iowa, Emmet, Kossuth County, Iowa, Kossuth and Palo Alto County, Iowa, Palo Alto counties and part of Clay County, Iowa, Clay County. The Anti-Monopoly Party was a short-lived American political party. The party nominated Benjamin F. Butler for President of the United States in 1884, as did the Greenback Party, which ultimately supplanted the organization. Organizational history The first organized Anti-Monopoly Party was founded in Minnesota in 1874 by former congressman Ignatius L. Donnelly. The Anti-Monopoly Party was founded as a national political party in 1884 at its convention in Chicago, which took place on May 14, 1884. Prior to this convention, however, there were Anti-Monopoly Parties operating at the state level, notably in California and New York. Corydon, Iowa
Corydon is a city in Wayne County, Iowa, United States. The population was 1,526 in the 2020 census, a decline from 1,591 in 2000. It is the county seat of Wayne County. The town was laid out and platted in 1851 and later that year designated as the county seat. The town was named by county judge Seth Anderson after his old home town of Corydon, Indiana. Corydon is the hometown of Olympic gold medalist George Saling. Saling won the 110 meter hurdles in the 1932 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles with a time of 14.6 seconds. Albia is a city in and the county seat of Monroe County, in southern Iowa, United States. The population was 3,721 at the 2020 census. The city of Albia is known for its historic square and city-wide Victorian Architecture. Albia is also known for the annual "Restoration" days celebration which commemorates the refurbishment of the square and the town which began in the mid-1960s. History Albia was incorporated as a town in 1856. The town was named after Albia, New York, the former home of an early settler. Clarke County is a county located in the U.S. state of Iowa. As of the 2020 census, the population was 9,748. The county seat is Osceola. The county was formed in January 1846, one of twelve counties established by legislative action in a comprehensive act. It was named for James Clarke, a Governor of the Iowa Territory. Wayne County is a county located in the U.S. state of Iowa. As of the 2020 census, the population was 6,497, making it the sixth-least populous county in Iowa. The county seat is Corydon.
