The 4th district of the Iowa Senate is located in Northwestern Iowa. It is currently composed of Calhoun County, Iowa, Calhoun, Pocahontas County, Iowa, Pocahontas, Sac County, Iowa, Sac, and Webster County, Iowa, Webster counties. Tim Kraayenbrink
Tim Kraayenbrink (born 1959) is the Iowa State Senator from the 5th District. A Republican, he has served in the Iowa Senate since winning election in 2015. Born in Paullina, Iowa, Kraayenbrink went on to attend Northern State College in South Dakota. He spent time as a teacher and football coach for the Northwest Webster School District. Later he started his own financial firm which he had led for over 25 years before he decided to run for public office. The Iowa Supreme Court is the highest court in the U.S. state of Iowa. The Court is composed of a Chief Justice and six Associate Justices. The Court holds its regular sessions in Des Moines in the Iowa Judicial Branch Building located at 1111 East Court Avenue on the state Capitol grounds, south of the Iowa State Capitol. Corydon, Iowa
Corydon is a city in Wayne County, Iowa, United States. The population was 1,526 in the 2020 census, a decline from 1,591 in 2000. It is the county seat of Wayne County. The town was laid out and platted in 1851 and later that year designated as the county seat. The town was named by county judge Seth Anderson after his old home town of Corydon, Indiana. Corydon is the hometown of Olympic gold medalist George Saling. Saling won the 110 meter hurdles in the 1932 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles with a time of 14.6 seconds. The school district's sports complex bears his name, Saling Sports Complex, and the annual George Saling Race is part of the community's Old Settler's Celebration held the second weekend in August. Wayne County is a county located in the U.S. state of Iowa. As of the 2020 census, the population was 6,497, making it the sixth-least populous county in Iowa. The county seat is Corydon. History Wayne County was formed in 1846 but was still attached to other counties for governmental purposes. It was named after General Anthony Wayne. Its southern border with Missouri was uncertain until the states got a decision from the US Supreme Court in 1848 which held the 1816 Sullivan line (re-marked in 1850), originally run as the northern boundary of an Osage Indian cession. Greenback Party (United States)
The Greenback Party (known successively as the Independent Party, the National Independent Party and the Greenback Labor Party) was an American political party with an anti-monopoly ideology which was active between 1874 and 1889. The party ran candidates in three presidential elections, in 1876, 1880 and 1884, before it faded away. The party's name referred to the non- gold backed paper money, commonly known as " greenbacks," that had been issued by the North during the American Civil War and shortly afterward.
