Christina Bohannan
Christina Bohannan (born July 2, 1971) is an American politician, law professor, and former engineer who served as the Iowa House of Representatives, Iowa State Representative for the Iowa's 85th House of Representatives district, 85th district from 2021 to 2023. Elected in 2020 Iowa House of Representatives election, 2020, she succeeded Vicki Lensing. Bohannan was the Democratic nominee for Iowa's 1st congressional district in 2022 United States House of Representatives elections in Iowa, 2022, losing to incumbent Republican Mariannette Miller-Meeks. Iowa General Assembly
The Iowa General Assembly is the legislative branch of the state government of Iowa. Like the federal United States Congress, the General Assembly is a bicameral body, composed of the upper house Iowa Senate and the lower Iowa House of Representatives respectively. The Senate consists of four year terms and the House consists of two year terms. The General Assembly convenes within the Iowa State Capitol in Des Moines. There are 100 seats in the Iowa House of Representatives, representing 100 single-member districts across the state, formed by dividing the 50 Senate districts in half. Each district has a population of approximately 30,464 . The House of Representatives meets at the Iowa State Capitol in Des Moines. Unlike the upper house, the Iowa Senate, state House representatives serve two-year terms with the whole chamber up for re-election in even-numbered years. There are no term limits for the House. Johnson County, Iowa
Johnson County is located in the U.S. state of Iowa. As of the 2020 census, the population was 152,854, making it the fourth-most populous county in Iowa. The county seat is Iowa City, home of the University of Iowa. Johnson County is included in the Iowa City metropolitan area, which is also included in the Cedar Rapids-Iowa City Corridor Combined Statistical Area. Hubert M. Houser (born October 9, 1942) was the Iowa State Senator from the 49th District.
