Bohannan was born in 1971 and was raised in Florida. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in environmental engineering from the University of Florida and a

Career

Bohannan began her career as an environmental engineer for the Florida Department of Environmental Protection in the 1990s. She moved to Iowa in 2000, where she became a professor of law at the University of Iowa College of Law. While teaching at the University of Iowa, Bohannan served as president of the faculty senate. Bohannan began her campaign for the 85th district seat of the Iowa House of Representatives in October 2019. She defeated incumbent legislator
