Internazionale Football Club Torino commonly known as just Internazionale Torino was an Italian football club from Turin. The club was founded by a merger in 1891 and is the third Italian club dedicated to football. Origins of the club Two older clubs in Turin existed before this one, they were mixed sports clubs who competed in football as well as other sports. They were formed respectively in 1887 and 1889, and were called Torino Football and Cricket Club and Nobili Torino. The former was founded by Edoardo Bosio, a merchant worker in the British textile industry, who had brought the game back to Turin after experiencing it in England; this was most likely the first ever Italian club to participate in organised football. Their original colours were red and black stripes. The second club, whose name meant "Turin Nobles", bore the name of noble because it contained the Duke of the Abruzzi and Alfonso Ferrero di Ventimiglia (who would later become a president of FIGC). The 1898 Italian Football Championship was a major event in the footballing history of Italy. It was the first FIGC-endorsed league competition which is considered an official predecessor of Serie A. It was a knock-out tournament involving three clubs from Turin and one from Genoa. All three matches were played at the ''Velodromo Umberto I'' in Turin on 8 May, over the course of the one day. Foot-Ball Club Torinese was an Italian football club from Turin that was founded in 1894. It merged with Internazionale Torino in 1900, keeping its name. The club competed in the first Italian Football Championship, and stayed in the competition until the club dissolved in 1906, allowing the creation of Torino F.C. with the support of some Juventus dissidents. Italian Football Championship The club was the fourth oldest club in the history of Turin football, founded in 1894 the club wore similar colours to their local rivals Internazionale Torino with amber and black striped shirts with black socks, Internazionale wore white shorts, while Torinese wore black however. Velodromo Umberto I
Velodrome Humbert I, commonly known in Italian as ''Velodromo Umberto I'', was an early cycling velodrome and, from 1898, a football ground in Turin. The velodrome was named in honour of then King Humbert I of Savoy. During its time in use it was used by several clubs, it was located within the La Crocetta neighbourhood of Turin, within the Corso Re Umberto park near Mauriziano hospital. The velodrome is noted for been the host of the first ever Italian Football Championship in 1898. As thus, the first ever Italian Championship game was played there on the 8 May 1898 between Internazionale Torino and FBC Torinese.
