The Ministry of Interior Affairs ( fa, وزارت امور داخله افغانستان, ps, د افغانستان د کورنیو چارو وزارت) is the cabinet ministry of Afghanistan responsible for law enforcement, civil order and fighting crime. Abdul Qadir Nuristani (died 29 April 1978) was an Afghan Minister of the Interior during the Republic of Afghanistan. Mullah Abdur Razzaq Akhundzada (born 1958), an ethnic Pashtun, is a former interior minister in the Afghan government who is believed to be a member of the Taliban leadership. He is rumoured to belong to the Achakzai tribe, from a family of Jalaludin village, Spin Boldak District, Kandahar Province; it is also claimed that he is in fact not an Afghan, but is a Pakistani national. Qari Ahmadullah ( ps, قاری احمدالله) (born 1975) was an Afghan politician and the Taliban's first interior minister in 1996. He was responsible for bribing anti-Taliban commanders to desert the ranks of the United Islamic Front for the Salvation of Afghanistan opposition. Ahmadullah also commanded troops fighting on frontlines in the north of the country against the Northern Alliance. Abdul Samad Khaksar
Mullah Abdul Samad Khaksar (1960 – 14 January 2006), also referred to as Mohammad Khaksar in some news reports, served as Minister or Deputy Minister of Interior for Afghanistan under the Taliban government. He was born around 1960 in Kandahar. He received a madrasa education and fought under Hezbi Islami commander Mawlawi Abdul Raziq Muhammad Hasan in Kandahar during the 1980s. Mohammad Aslam Watanjar ( ps, محمداسلم وطنجار, 1946 – November 2000) was an Afghan general and politician. He played a significant role in the coup in 1978 that killed the Afghan president Mohammad Daud Khan and started the "Saur Revolution". Watanjar later became a member of the politburo in the Soviet-backed Democratic Republic of Afghanistan.
