Inner Kitsissut
Inner Kitsissut ( da, Indre Kitsissut, old spelling Indre Kitsigsut) is an island group in the Kujalleq municipality in southern Greenland. Geography Inner Kitsissut is located at the mouth of Coppermine Bay on the southern side, at a minimum distance of 2 km from the shore. It is a compact cluster of small islets and rocks, with a length of 9 km and a width of 6 km. Tulugartalik, the largest islet of the group, has a maximum length of 1.1 km and a height of 58 m. Labrador Sea
The Labrador Sea (French: ''mer du Labrador'', Danish: ''Labradorhavet'') is an arm of the North Atlantic Ocean between the Labrador Peninsula and Greenland. The sea is flanked by continental shelf, continental shelves to the southwest, northwest, and northeast. It connects to the north with Baffin Bay through the Davis Strait. It is a marginal sea of the Atlantic. The sea formed upon separation of the North American Plate and Greenland Plate that started about 60 million years ago and stopped about 40 million years ago. Kujalleq
Kujalleq ( Greenlandic: , da, Den Syden, lit=The South) is a municipality on the southern tip of Greenland, operational from 1 January 2009. The administrative center of the municipality is in Qaqortoq (formerly called Julianehåb). Creation The municipality consists of the former municipalities of southern Greenland, each named after the biggest settlement: * Nanortalik Municipality * Narsaq Municipality * Qaqortoq Municipality In addition to the area of these municipalities, uninhabited parts of the former municipalities of Paamiut and Ammassalik were added to the new administrative entity. Outer Kitsissut ( da, Ydre Kitsissut, old spelling Ydre Kitsigsut), also known as Thorstein Islands or Torstein Islands, is an island group in the Kujalleq municipality in southern Greenland. Geography Outer Kitsissut is located to the west-north-west of Cape Desolation 5 km from the shore. It is a compact cluster of small islets and rocks, with a length of 10 km and a width of 5 km. The highest and largest islet is Thorstein Island in the centre of the group, having a maximum length of about 0.7 km with a maximum height of 116 m.
