Ingjald Haaland
Ingjald Haaland (22 March 1885 – 28 July 1952) was a Norwegian actor and theatre director. Biography Haaland was born at Hålandsdal in Hordaland, Norway. He was the son of Sjur Haaland (1851–1912) and Brita Teigland (1855–1945). He was a student at Den Nationale Scene in Bergen from 1906. He made his stage debut at Dore Lavik's touring theatre in 1908. He was a member of the ensemble at Det Norske Teatret from its start in 1913, and served as theatre director from 1922 to 1933. He also performed at the Vestlandske Theater in Stavanger for a few years. When Det Norske Teatret was established in Oslo in 1913, he became employed there. He was theatre director from 1922 and stayed at Det Norske Teatret until 1940. He also appeared in several movies including works by filmmaker Olav Dalgard including ''Samhold må til'' from 1935. Tove Bryn (a.k.a. Tove Trollstugo, November 27, 1903 – June 24, 1983) was a Norwegian actress. Bryn had her film debut in 1920 in Gustav Adolf Olsen's '' Kaksen paa Øverland'', in which she played the role of a huldra. In the 1930s and 1940s she appeared in three films directed by Rasmus Breistein: ''Ungen'' (1938, as Petrina), ''Hu Dagmar'' (1939, as Marte-Maja), and ''Gullfjellet'' (1941, as Olaug Benningstad). Hålandsdal
Hålandsdal is a List of former municipalities of Norway, former municipality in the old Hordaland county, Norway. The municipality existed from 1903 until 1964. It encompassed the eastern part of what is now Bjørnafjorden Municipality in Vestland county. It included the large lakes Skogseidvatnet and Gjønavatnet and all of their surrounding valleys. The administrative centre of the municipality was the village of Holdhus where the Holdhus Church is located. History On 1 January 1903, the parish of Hålandsdal (historically spelled ''Haalandsdal'') was separated from the municipality of Fusa to form a separate municipality of its own. Initially, Hålandsdal had a population of 647. Hans Jacob Nilsen
Hans Jacob Nilsen (8 November 1897 – 6 March 1957) was a Norwegian actor, theatre director and film director. He was a theatre director at Den Nationale Scene, at Folketeatret, and for two separate periods at Det Norske Teatret. Personal life Nilsen was born in Fredrikstad, a son of Otto Marquard Orning Nilsen and Sara Lorentzen. He married Sophie Munch Roede in 1958. Their daughter Grethe Nilsen was married to politician Knut Frydenlund. He died in Oslo on 6 March 1957. Career First trained as a mechanical engineer, Nilsen started his theatrical career as an actor. He worked as a stage actor in Bergen, Trondheim and Oslo. He was appointed theatre director at Det Norske Teatret from 1933 to 1934, and was theatre director at Den Nationale Scene from 1934 to 1939. Knut Helle
Knut Helle (19 December 1930 – 27 June 2015) was a Norwegian historian. A professor at the University of Bergen from 1973 to 2000, he specialized in the late medieval history of Norway. He has contributed to several large works. Early life, education and marriage He was born in Larvik as the son of school inspector Hermann Olai Helle (1893–1973) and teacher Berta Marie Malm (1906–1991). He was the older brother of politician Ingvar Lars Helle. The family moved to Hetland when Knut Helle was seventeen years old. Johan Falkberget
Johan Falkberget, born Johan Petter Lillebakken, (30 September 1879 – 5 April 1967) was a Norwegian author. He was nominated for the Nobel Prize in Literature. Life and career Johan Falkberget was born on the Lillebakken farm in the Rugldal valley in the Norwegian copper mining municipality of Røros. In 1891, he began to write his Christianus Sextus trilogy, though it was not published until later. He formally changed his surname for writing purposes in 1893, from Lillebakken to Falkberget—the name of the farm he then lived on (this was a normal practice in those days). His first work was published in 1902. In 1906 he quit his job as a miner and found a job as editor of the newspaper «''Nybrott''» in Ålesund. In 1908 he traveled to Fredrikstad and edited «''Smaalenes Socialdemokrat''». He then received a government-sponsored scholarship and traveled to Kirkenes.
