A ''mkhare'' ( ka, მხარე, ''mxare'') is a type of administrative division in the country of Georgia (country), Georgia. It is usually translated as "region". According to presidential decrees in 1994 and 1996, Georgia's division into regions is on a provisional basis until the secessionist conflicts in Abkhazia and South Ossetia are resolved. Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti (Georgian: სამეგრელო-ზემო სვანეთი) is a region (Mkhare) in western Georgia with a population of 308,358 (2021) and a surface of . The region has Zugdidi as its administrative center, while Giorgi Guguchia is governor of the region since June 2021. Zugdidi ( ka, ზუგდიდის მუნიციპალიტეტი) is a Municipality of Georgia, in the region of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti. Zugdidi Municipality is located in the central part of western Georgia (area - 692 sq. km). Its western border follows the Black Sea coast ( Ganmukhuri, Anaklia), the administrative strip of Abkhazia ( Gali district) in the northwest, Tsalenjikha Municipality in the north and northeast, and it borders Chkhorotsqu Municipality and Khobi Municipality to the south. Odishi-Guria Plain
The Odishi-Guria plain also known as Odishi-Guria lowland and Odishi Plateau ( ka, ოდიშის ვაკე) is a plain in the middle part of Samegrelo in western Georgia from the bottom of the Egrisi Range to the northern edge of the Colchis lowland. To the south, it is bordered by the Urta-Bis and Unagiri lakes, partly limestone, brachytic-clastic, hillsides. Odishi Plateau height is in the range 150-450 m. Senaki ( ka, სენაკი; xmf, სანაკი) is a town in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region, western Georgia. It is located at around between the rivers Tekhura/i and Tsivi, at an elevation of 28–38 meters above sea level. Senaki is the center of the Senaki Municipality and serves as a residence of Metropolitans of Senaki and Ckhorotskhu Eparchy of the Georgian Apostolic Autocephalous Orthodox Church. Etymology According to Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani the name "Senaki" (''სენაკი'') means "small room" or "chapel" in Georgian.
