Inga-Britt Söderberg
Inga-Britt Söderberg (2 February 1935 — 15 February 2019) was a Finnish model, and the 1955 Miss Finland and Miss Europe. In 1956, Söderberg married a Canadian diplomat, Donald D. Cliffe, and two years later the couple moved to Canada, where they had two daughters. Prior to her beauty pageant victories, Söderberg had worked as a post office clerk. Afterwards she began modelling, which continued until the early 1970s, as well as appearing in at least one film. Later still, she switched to sheep farming, running her 400-sheep-farm in Ontario for 30 years from 1971 to 2001. A model is a person with a role either to promote, display or advertise commercial products (notably fashion clothing in fashion shows) or to serve as a visual aid for people who are creating works of art or to pose for photography. Though models are predominantly female, there are also male models, especially to model clothing. Models may work professionally or casually. Miss Finland
Miss Suomi (Finnish for ''Miss Finland'') is a national beauty pageant in Finland. The pageant was founded in 1931, where the winners were sent to Miss Universe. History Miss Suomi was held for the first time in 1931. Between 1952 and 1955 the winner of Suomen Neito went to Miss Universe, where Armi Kuusela was also crowned as the first Miss Universe in Long Beach by actress Piper Laurie in 1952. In 1956 due to lack of sponsorship, the national pageant of Suomen Neito was not held and made Finland withdraw from the competition. In 1960 Finland returned to Miss Universe with the second runner-up of Miss Suomi 1960, Maija-Leena Manninen, representing the country. Miss Europe
Miss Europe is a beauty pageant for European women from all over Europe. It was established in February 1927 by Fanamet, the European distributor of Paramount, as a one-off event where the winner was to star in a film directed by Friedrich Wilhelm Murnau. After the initial twelve-person jury couldn't decide between 10 contestants, a runoff election was held where Murnau chose the winner. Murnau ended up choosing Štefica Vidačić of Yugoslavia as the winner and the first ever Miss Europe. Miss Europe was later re-established in December 1928 by French journalist Maurice de Waleffe (1874–1946), who also created, in 1920, what by 1927 had become the Miss France pageant.
