''In a Brilliant White'' is the seventh studio album by Norwegian group Fra Lippo Lippi; this time, with vocalist Per Øystein Sørensen as the sole member (as bassist/founder Rune Kristoffersen retired to manage his record label). The band's first studio album in more than a decade, it contains mostly Sorensen's works and was initially produced and released only in the Philippines by EMI Music Philippines in 2002. "Later" became a hit in the Philippines even before the album was released, receiving massive airplay on radio which rejuvenated the band's popularity in the Philippines. Hence, EMI Music Philippines (now Polyeast Records) decided to produce a full-length album with it. "Wish We Were Two" was released as a second single, a collaboration between Sorensen and Filipino R&B singer Kyla. However, this single did not receive as much local airplay. Fra Lippo Lippi is a Norwegian band. They had several hits in the 1980s, such as "Shouldn't Have to Be Like That", "Everytime I See You" and " Light and Shade", and recorded a new album as late as 2002. The band name is derived from Robert Browning's poem about the Renaissance painter Filippo Lippi. History Fra Lippo Lippi was founded in Nesodden, Norway in 1980 by Rune Kristoffersen (bass, guitar, keyboards), Morten Sjøberg (drums, keyboards) and Bjørn Sorknes (bass, keyboards). Svein Dag Hauge (born 23 October 1956 in Årdal, Norway) is a Norwegian jazz musician (guitar) and record producer, known from the band Lava and numerous recordings as a studio musician. Career His early career began in Olav Stedje Band «Compact» (1973). In addition, he has been a key producer for such Olav Stedje, contributed with Jahn Teigen, Trond-Viggo Torgersen, Dollie de Luxe, Marius Müller, Randi Hansen, Ketil Stokkan, Bobbysocks, Torhild Nigar, Hilde Heltberg and Tre Busserulls. Filippo Lippi ( – 8 October 1469), also known as Lippo Lippi, was an Italian painter of the Quattrocento (15th century) and a Carmelite Priest. Biography Lippi was born in Florence in 1406 to Tommaso, a butcher, and his wife. He was orphaned when he was two years old and sent to live with his aunt Mona Lapaccia. Because she was too poor to rear him, she placed him in the neighboring Carmelite convent when he was eight years old. There, he started his education. In 1420 he was admitted to the community of Carmelite friars of the Priory of Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Florence, taking religious vows in the Order the following year, at the age of sixteen. He was ordained as a priest in approximately 1425 and remained in residence of that priory until 1432. Rune Kristoffersen (born 22 September 1957) is a Norwegian musician, best known for being the founder and bassist of the new wave band Fra Lippo Lippi. Background Rune Kristoffersen grew up in Nesodden and was founder member of Norwegian pop outfit Fra Lippo Lippi, playing bass, guitar and keyboards as well as providing lead vocals on their debut album '' In Silence'' and being the band's main songwriter. In the early 1980s, he also worked for the band's record label Uniton Records. ''Dreams'' is the sixth studio album by Norwegian band Fra Lippo Lippi. When their 1989 album ''The Colour Album'' generated mediocre sales , the band parted ways with their Swedish label The Record Station and were considering breaking up. Instead, they decided to write songs for a new album. In 1991, the band recorded the songs in founder Rune Kristoffersen's basement before sending the tapes to Stockholm, Sweden, for record producer Kaj Erixon (who worked on the band's 1985 album '' Songs'') to mix them. The album was released by Sonet Records in Norway, Polystar Records in Japan and OctoArts International (now EMI Records Philippines) in the Philippines. Per Øystein Sørensen (born December 13, 1961) is a Norwegian singer and songwriter, best known as the vocalist of the new wave band Fra Lippo Lippi. Biography Sørensen joined Fra Lippo Lippi in 1982 as the new vocalist in time for their second LP, ''Small Mercies''. The band's third album '' Songs'' contained the hit single " Shouldn't Have to Be Like That", a double A-side with "The Distance Between Us". Fra Lippo Lippi ceased recording in the early '90s. However, in 2000, Fra Lippo Lippi performed again in the Philippines, where the band had a number of major successes during the '80s, having also performed there to a big audience in 1988.
