The COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on the performing arts, mirroring its impacts across all arts sectors. The Old Vic is a 1,000-seat, nonprofit organization, not-for-profit producing house, producing theatre in Waterloo, London, Waterloo, London, England. Established in 1818 as the Royal Coburg Theatre, and renamed in 1833 the Royal Victoria Theatre. In 1871 it was rebuilt and reopened as the Royal Victoria Palace. A tryout is the staging of performances of a theatrical production (i.e., a play or musical) at an out-of-town venue for evaluation and possible revision before the production premieres on Broadway theatre, Broadway or the West End theatre, West End (i.e., the highest level of live theater in the English-speaking world).
