Illinois Open
The Illinois Open Championship is a golf tournament that is administered by the Illinois PGA (Professional Golfers' Association). The state championship of golf is a 54-hole championship over three days to determine the finest player in the state of Illinois. The tournament is open to professionals and amateurs with a handicap of 10 or less who reside within the state of Illinois. In 2015, for the first time in the history of the Illinois Open, the Illinois PGA changed the format of the event having it contested at two facilities for the first and second rounds. The final championship field size after qualifying events increased from 156 to 258 players. The number of competitors making the cut also increased to the top 70 and ties from the top 50 and ties. Naperville ( ) is a city in DuPage County, Illinois, DuPage and Will County, Illinois, Will counties in the U.S. state of Illinois. It is in the Chicago metro area, west of the city. Oswego, Illinois
Oswego is a village in Kendall and Will Counties, Illinois, United States. Per the 2020 census, the population was 34,485. Oswego is the largest municipality in Kendall County. It is a suburb of Chicago, Illinois. History In 1833, William Smith Wilson, his wife Rebecca, and his brother-in-law Daniel Pearce moved to the area now known as Oswego. The land belonged to the local Potawatomi, Ottawa, and Chippewa tribes, but the United States government removed the Native Americans when the government started surveying the land along the Fox River in Kendall County. In 1842, the federal government placed the land for sale at an established price of $1.25 an acre. After the sale of the land, Lewis Brinsmaid Judson and Levi F. Andy Pope (born March 3, 1984) is an American professional golfer. Pope was born in Glen Ellyn, Illinois. He played college golf at Xavier University and graduated in 2006. Individually, in 2003 he was Atlantic 10 Conference runner-up and in 2004 he was conference champion - in 2003 and 2005 he was part of a team championship. Mike Small (golfer)
Mike Small (born March 4, 1966) is an American professional golfer and college golf coach. Amateur career Small was born in Aurora, Illinois and grew up in Danville, Illinois. He was a four-time letter winner at Danville High School. He won the Junior Masters in 1984 and went on to play college golf at the University of Illinois. At Illinois, he was a member of the 1988 Big Ten Championship team, where he finished second behind teammate and current PGA Tour member Steve Stricker. Small was named to the All-Big Ten squad and won two tournaments during his senior year, the Butler National Intercollegiate and the Michigan State Spartan Classic. Brad Benjamin (born September 21, 1986) is an American professional golfer. Amateur career Benjamin was born in Rockford, Illinois. He had a successful amateur career while at the University of Memphis. In his freshman year of 2006, he finished tied third in the Conference USA golf championships. Luke Guthrie (born January 31, 1990) is an American professional golfer. Born in Quincy, Illinois, Guthrie played college golf at the University of Illinois. In his time at U of I, Guthrie won seven collegiate tournaments, including two Big Ten Conference Championships. Upon completion of his senior season at Illinois, Guthrie became professional and began playing on the Web.com Tour in 2012, while still taking university courses. In his first five professional golf outings, Guthrie secured four top-10 finishes. In his sixth appearance, Luke won the Albertsons Boise Open.
