Ilary Blasi (; born 28 April 1981) is an Italian showgirl, model, television personality, and former child actress. Early life Ilary was born in Rome, daughter of Roberto and Daniela. Her mother named her after one of her favourite Western movie heroines. Blasi has two sisters, Melory and Silvia. Blasi was introduced to showbusiness by her mother. As she declared in an interview, a neighbour told her mother that an agency was recruiting a blonde child with blue eyes for an advertisement of the "Panettone Galbusera"; Daniela brought Blasi to the casting, and she was selected for her first job. Miss Italia is a beauty pageant awarding prizes every year to young, female contestants from Italy. The Festivalbar was an Italian singing competition that took place in the most important Italian squares during summer, such as the Piazza del Duomo, Catania or Piazza Bra, Verona. The first edition took place in 1964 and was broadcast by RAI. The competition was held throughout the summer and the final round always took place at the Arena in Verona after 3-4 events in various cities of Italy. The Sanremo Music Festival 2006 was the 56th annual Sanremo Music Festival, held at the Teatro Ariston in Sanremo, province of Imperia, between late February and early March 2006 and broadcast by Rai 1. The show was presented by Italian comedian Giorgio Panariello, who also served as the artistic co-director, with showgirls Ilary Blasi and Victoria Cabello. It consisted of a competition between 30 songs, divided into four different categories—Men, Women, Groups and Newcomers.
