Ian Browne (musician)
Ian Browne (born November 12, 1973) is a Canadian-born musician and composer. He was formerly with psych-blues band No Sinner, and before that notably the drummer of the popular Canadian rock group Matthew Good Band. Browne plays drums and performs backup vocals on The Prettys' upcoming second LP "Soirée". He also played on No Sinner's debut EP ''Boo Hoo Hoo'', and played drums and produced tracks on their 2016 LP " Old Habits Die Hard". He can also be heard on the Matthew Good Band albums ''Last of the Ghetto Astronauts'', ''Raygun'', ''Underdogs'', '' Lo-Fi B-Sides'', ''Beautiful Midnight'', '' Loser Anthems'', '' Audio of Being'', and the greatest hits compilation ''In a Coma''. Ian Brown
Ian George Brown (born 20 February 1963) is an English singer and multi-instrumentalist. He was the lead singer of the alternative rock band The Stone Roses from their formation in 1983. Following the split in 1996, he began a solo career, releasing seven studio albums, a greatest hits compilation, a remix album, an 11-disc box set titled ''Collection'', and 19 singles. He has performed solo shows in 45 countries. He returned to singing for the Stone Roses in 2011, although this did not spell the end of his solo endeavours, releasing ''First World Problems'' through Virgin/EMI Records on 25 October 2018. ''Underdogs'' is the second full-length studio album by the Canadian alternative rock group Matthew Good Band, released in 1997. In a 2000 poll by music magazine ''Chart'', ''Underdogs'' was voted the 18th Greatest Canadian album of all time. Background In December 1996, Matthew Good Band signed a two-album deal with Private Music. In mid-January, on the first day of pre-production for ''Underdogs'', the group was notified that BMG Entertainment North America was merging Private Music into Windham Hill/High Street Records, putting a halt to the production of the album. In mid-March, after negotiations, Windham Hill/High Street released the group from its contract. Good was paid what he was owed for the two albums, and the group decided to record the new album regardless of label support, using the money received from the divorce of their contract with Windham Hill/High Street to fund it. ''The Audio Of Being'' is the fourth and final album by the Canadian rock group Matthew Good Band, released in 2001. It included two singles: "Carmelina" and "Anti-Pop". The album sold 73,000 units in Canada by March 2003 and was certified Gold the same month. Recording Matthew Good has stated that the recording process for the album was a "nightmare". He claims it started during the rehearsals of the songs for the album, due to the process being hampered with band members trying to inject ideas into the songs so they could make a case for publishing credits. In addition to that, Good was very ill during much of the recording sessions. "Anti-Pop" was not originally recorded for the album. After the recording sessions were finished, the band's label requested that the band record another song that could be released as a single.
