IVA 65
The IVA 65, (full name ''Internationale Verkehrsausstellung 65'') was a world's transportation exhibition held in Munich in 1965. It was the 16th specialized exhibition recognized by the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE). The IVA 65 was the international follow up from the ''Deutsche Verkehrsausstellung'' (German transportation fairs) held between 1924 and 1953 in Germany. The focus always had been the German rail traffic and Germany presented the prototypes of the Frankfurt underground rolling stock and the high speed locomotive class E03. The E03 hauled the trains from the Augsburg - Munich service with a scheduled 200 km/h during the exhibition. Besides the railtraffic, navigation, aerospace and roadtraffic got their share in the Bavariapark. The IVA was repeated twice until German reunification. Expo 61
Expo 61 was the international labour exhibition held in 1961 in the Italian City of Turin. It was the 15th specialized exposition recognized by the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE). Italy used the opportunity to expand the event with an exposition celebrating the centennial of Italian unity. The result is that the exhibition is widely remembered as ''Italia '61''. The labour exhibition The international part of the expo 61 was held in the purpose built ''Palazzo del Lavoro'' (Labour Palace) designed by the Italian architect Pier Luigi Nervi. The roof is supported by 16 pillars each 25 meters heigh, each supporting a 38 x 38 meter concrete element. Glass panels between the concrete elements allows daylight into the 25.000 m2 hall. HemisFair '68
HemisFair '68 was the official 1968 World's Fair (or International Exposition) held in San Antonio, Texas, from April 6 through October 6, 1968. Local businessman and civic leader, Jerome K. Harris Sr., coined the name HemisFair and conceived the idea for the fair, hoping it would unite all the cultures that comprise San Antonio and solidify the city's reputation as a cultural and historic destination. With help from commisioner Henry B. Gonzales and other San Antonio leaders, the fair materialized and helped transform the city from a cowtown to one of the largest cities in the country. The theme of the fair was "The Confluence of Civilizations in the Americas", celebrating the many nations which settled the region. The 1967 International and Universal Exposition, commonly known as Expo 67, was a general exhibition from April 27 to October 29, 1967. It was a category One World's Fair held in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It is considered to be one of the most successful World's Fairs of the 20th century with the most attendees to that date and 62 nations participating. It also set the single-day attendance record for a world's fair, with 569,500 visitors on its third day. Expo 67 was Canada's main celebration during its centennial year. The fair had been intended to be held in Moscow, to help the Soviet Union celebrate the Russian Revolution's 50th anniversary; however, for various reasons, the Soviets decided to cancel, and Canada was awarded it in late 1962. The Baureihe 103 is a class of electric locomotives in Germany, originally operated by Deutsche Bundesbahn. For a long period, they were perceived as flagships of the DB rolling stock. Development In the decades following World War II, the Deutsche Bundesbahn focused on purchasing a large number of standardised electric locomotives.
