Nicholas Antero "Niko" Hämäläinen (born 5 March 1997) is a professional footballer who plays as a left-back for Belgian club RWDM47 on loan from Queens Park Rangers. Born in the United States, he represents the Finland national team. Born and raised in the United States, Hämäläinen was eligible to represent Finland through his Finnish father. Kasper Woldemar Hämäläinen (born 8 August 1986) is a Finnish professional football attacking midfielder who plays for Ykkönen side TPS and the Finland national team. Hämäläinen was born in Turku, Finland, where he started his senior career in TPS before moving to Djurgården. Sirkka Aune-Marjatta Hämäläinen (born 8 May 1939 in Riihimäki) is a Finnish economist who served as a member of the Executive Board of the European Central Bank from 1998 to 2003. She previously served as the Governor of the Bank of Finland from 1992 to 1998. Hämäläinen was the first woman to hold either post. Early life and education Hämäläinen was born on 8 May 1939, in Riihimäki. Her parents were Martti Oskari Hinkkala, a farmer, and Impi Aune Nikander, a household economics teacher. Kyösti Hämäläinen (born 16 September 1945 in Helsinki) is a Finnish rally driver. He contested 19 World Rally Championship events, winning the 1977 1000 Lakes Rally overall. Hämäläinen also won 13 Finnish Rally Championship titles between 1973 and 1986. Career Hämäläinen began his career in 1965 by taking part in ice racing events with rental cars. In 1969, he moved to rallying and in 1973 took his Finnish Rally Championship championship in group 1, driving an Alfa Romeo 2000 GTV. He followed it up with four consecutive Group 1 titles between 1975 and 1978, using a Sunbeam Avenger(1975) and Ford Escort(1976,1977,1978). Erik Vesa Hämäläinen (born April 20, 1965 in Rauma, Finland) is a left-handed retired Finnish ice hockey defenceman. Hämäläinen currently is an Ice hockey coach, employed by SM-liiga team Lukko Playing career Early career Erik Hämäläinen started his professional career with his hometown team, Rauman Lukko, which played in the Finnish SM-liiga. Pekka Johannes Hämäläinen (born 1967, Helsinki, Finland) is a Finnish historian who has been the Rhodes Professor of American History at the University of Oxford since 2012.
