Nicholas Antero "Niko" Hämäläinen (born 5 March 1997) is a professional footballer who plays as a left-back for Belgian club RWDM47 on loan from Queens Park Rangers. Kasper Woldemar Hämäläinen (born 8 August 1986) is a Finnish professional football attacking midfielder who plays for Ykkönen side TPS and the Finland national team. Hämäläinen was born in Turku, Finland, where he started his senior career in TPS before moving to Djurgården. Sirkka Aune-Marjatta Hämäläinen (born 8 May 1939 in Riihimäki) is a Finnish economist who served as a member of the Executive Board of the European Central Bank from 1998 to 2003. She previously served as the Governor of the Bank of Finland from 1992 to 1998. Hämäläinen was the first woman to hold either post. Early life and education Hämäläinen was born on 8 May 1939, in Riihimäki. Her parents were Martti Oskari Hinkkala, a farmer, and Impi Aune Nikander, a household economics teacher. She graduated from the Karkkila Co-educational School in 1957 and following it attended Helsinki School of Economics from which she obtained her B.S. and M.Sc. in economics in 1961 and 1964 respectively. Kyösti Hämäläinen (born 16 September 1945 in Helsinki) is a Finnish rally driver. He contested 19 World Rally Championship events, winning the 1977 1000 Lakes Rally overall. Hämäläinen also won 13 Finnish Rally Championship titles between 1973 and 1986. Career Hämäläinen began his career in 1965 by taking part in ice racing events with rental cars. In 1969, he moved to rallying and in 1973 took his Finnish Rally Championship championship in group 1, driving an Alfa Romeo 2000 GTV. He followed it up with four consecutive Group 1 titles between 1975 and 1978, using a Sunbeam Avenger(1975) and Ford Escort(1976,1977,1978). In 1978 Hämäläinen moved to Group 2 and won eight consecutive Finnish Championships with a Ford Escort, from 1979 to 1986. Erik Vesa Hämäläinen (born April 20, 1965 in Rauma, Finland) is a left-handed retired Finnish ice hockey defenceman. Hämäläinen currently is an Ice hockey coach, employed by SM-liiga team Lukko Playing career Early career Erik Hämäläinen started his professional career with his hometown team, Rauman Lukko, which played in the Finnish SM-liiga. He debuted during the 1982–1983 Season. Lukko was demoted from SM-liiga after the 82–83 season, but gained promotion by winning the I-Divisioona in 1984. Hämäläinen played for six seasons (1982–1988) in Lukko. His last was cut short when an injury sidelined him for the most of the season. In 1989, Hämäläinen moved to Kuopio and started to play for KalPa. He stayed with KalPa for four Seasons (1989–1992) before transferring to Helsingin Jokerit in 1992. Pekka Johannes Hämäläinen (born 1967, Helsinki, Finland) is a Finnish historian who has been the Rhodes Professor of American History at the University of Oxford since 2012. He was formerly in the History Department at University of California, Santa Barbara. Life Hämäläinen was born and raised in Helsinki, Finland. It was only in secondary school that an inspiring teacher made him realize that he enjoyed history, his core interest being Native American history. At university, Hämäläinen majored in history and trained to become a secondary history teacher. Helvi Hämäläinen (16 June 1907 – 17 January 1998) was a Finnish writer who published dozens of books of prose and poetry during her six decade writing career. Biography Helvi Heleena Hämäläinen was born in Hamina, 16 June 1907. She moved to Helsinki with her parents Aaro and Iida Hämäläinen while still a pre-schooler. Hämäläinen's first published novel, ''Hyväntekijä'' (The Benefactor) appeared in 1930, but her breakthrough came five years later with her feminist depiction of the working-class, ''Katuojan vettä'' (Water in a Gutter). Jyrki Hämäläinen was the editor of ''Suosikki'', a teen magazine, from 1968 until his retirement from the publication in 2002.
