Heather Heggestad
Heather Heggestad (previously Heather Marshall and Heather Graham) is a Canadian curler from Barrie, Ontario. She currently skips a team on the World Curling Tour. Heggestad is originally from Gore Bay, Ontario. Heggestad won two straight provincial mixed curling, mixed championships playing third for her then-boyfriend Cory Heggestad (2013 and 2014 events) and won the 2013 Canadian Mixed Curling Championship as a member of Team Ontario. She also played on the Ontario team at the 2014 Canadian Mixed Curling Championship, finishing second. On the World Curling Tour, she has won two career bonspiels, the 2013 Stroud Sleeman Cash Spiel and the 2016 CookstownCash presented by Comco Canada Inc. 2017 Ontario Scotties Tournament Of Hearts
The 2017 Ontario Scotties Tournament of Hearts, the provincial women's curling championship for Southern Ontario, was held January 30 to February 5 at the Cobourg Community Centre in Cobourg, Ontario. The winning Rachel Homan rink represented Ontario at the 2017 Scotties Tournament of Hearts on home ice in St. Catharines, Ontario. Homan went on to win her third Scotties Tournament of Hearts, defeating Manitoba's Michelle Englot in the final. The event was held in conjunction with the 2017 Ontario Tankard, southern Ontario's men's provincial championship which was held at the same time. The events are usually held separately. The opening ceremonies were scheduled for January 30. The Rachel Homan rink, who were ranked #1 on the World Curling Tour's Order of Merit ranking won the event, after having been upset in the 2016 Ontario Scotties Tournament of Hearts by club-mates Jenn Hanna and her rink. The Ontario Scotties Tournament of Hearts is the Ontario provincial curling championship for women's curling. The tournament is run by CurlON, the curling association for Southern Ontario. The winning team represents Team Ontario at the national Scotties Tournament of Hearts. The Stu Sells Cookstown Classic, formerly the CookstownCash presented by Comco Canada Inc. is an annual curling tournament that was part of the World Curling Tour, the highest-level curling tour in the world. The event was introduced in 2012 and was held on the first weekend in November, at the Cookstown Curling Club in Cookstown, Ontario. 2014 Canadian Mixed Curling Championship
The 2014 Canadian Mixed Curling Championship was held from November 14 to 23 at the Rideau Curling Club in Ottawa, Ontario. Alberta's Darren Moulding defeated defending champion Cory Heggestad of Ontario in the final with a score of 8–5. Qualifying round Four associations did not automatically qualify to the championships, and will participate in a qualifying round. The Northwest Territories and Yukon were relegated from the championships due to finishing at the bottom of the standings in the 2013 Canadian Mixed Curling Championship, previous year's championships. Two qualification spots will be awarded to the two winners of a double knockout round.
