CookstownCash Presented By Comco Canada Inc
The Stu Sells Cookstown Classic, formerly the CookstownCash presented by Comco Canada Inc. is an annual curling tournament that was part of the World Curling Tour, the highest-level curling tour in the world. The event was introduced in 2012 and was held on the first weekend in November, at the Cookstown Curling Club in Cookstown, Ontario. Originally just part of the Ontario Curling Tour, it was part of the World Curling Tour from 2014 to 2017. After a five-year pause, the event returned in 2022 as part of the Stu Sells series. Team Alex Champ of Kitchener–Waterloo were the most recent men's champions in 2022. Cookstown, Ontario
Innisfil is a town in Ontario, Canada, located on the western shore of Lake Simcoe in Simcoe County, immediately south of Barrie and north of Toronto. It has historically been a rural area, but due to being geographically sandwiched in between the high-growth areas of Barrie area and York Region has meant greater residential development in Innisfil. Adam Spencer (curler)
Adam Spencer, nicknamed "Crusher" (born July 11, 1972) is a Canadian curler from Guelph, Ontario. Career Juniors In 1992, Spencer skipped a team consisting of Greg Robinson, Jeff Robinson and Nolan Sims to a provincial junior title. This qualified the rink to represent Ontario at the 1992 Canadian Junior Curling Championships. There, he led his Ontario rink to a 6-5 round robin record. This put them in a three-way tie for third place. They would go on to lose their tie breaker match against Saskatchewan's Scott Bitz. Men's After juniors, Spencer won a provincial Colts championship in 1994. He would be a skip for much of his early men's career, including going to his first Provincial championship in 1996, where he led his team to a 5–4 record and his second in 2003, where he led his team to a 1-8 record. Brent Ross
Brent Ross (born September 30, 1970) is a Canadian curler from Harriston, Ontario. He currently plays third for Team Dayna Deruelle on the World Curling Tour. Career Early in his career, Ross won the Ontario Colts Championship in 1997. Ross skipped his own rink on the World Curling Tour until 2007, when he joined the Jake Higgs rink, playing third on the team for the 2007–08 season, and then throwing fourth rocks (with Higgs throwing third) until 2014. The team played in their first Grand Slam of Curling event at the 2010 Players' Championship, where they lost all of their games. The next season, they played in the 2010 World Cup of Curling (now known as the Masters), going 2-3 and at the January 2011 Canadian Open, going 2-3 again. Valentin Tanner
Valentin Igor Fédéric Tanner (born 2 October 1992) is a Swiss curler. He currently plays lead for the Peter de Cruz team from Geneva. Career Tanner is the long-time lead for de Cruz. The team played in two World Junior Curling Championships, winning gold at the 2010 World Junior Curling Championships (defeating Scotland's Ally Fraser in the final) and a silver at the 2011 World Junior Curling Championships (losing to Sweden's Oskar Eriksson in the final). 2011 was the final year of junior eligibility for de Cruz. Peter De Cruz
Peter Vincent de Cruz (born 4 January 1990) is a Swiss curler. He is an Olympic bronze medallist for Switzerland, having skipped his Swiss rink to a third place finish at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang. While de Cruz is the skip of his team, he throws second stones. As a junior, De Cruz skipped the Swiss team at both the 2010 and 2011 World Junior Curling Championships. He won the gold medal in 2010, defeating Scotland, skipped by Ally Fraser. Robert William Doherty (born August 6, 1988) is a Canadian curler from Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. He currently plays lead on Team Adam Casey. Curling career Originally from New Brunswick, Doherty won the New Brunswick junior championships in 2009, playing second for the Jon Rennie rink. Viktor Kjäll
Viktor Erik Kjäll ( anglicized as Kjell; born 13 June 1985) is a Swedish curler originally from Karlstad. Curling career Viktor Kjäll made his World Championship debut at the 2007 Edmonton World Championships as the Second for Sweden's most successful male skip at that time, Peja Lindholm. They finished with a 6 – 5 record in a four-way tie for fourth place. In the tie-breaking rounds, they lost to the eventual Silver Medalists Team Germany skipped by Andy Kapp. After Peja Lindholm's retirement, Kjäll eventually made his way onto Niklas Edin's team. Their first major competition was the 2009 European Championships held in Aberdeen, Scotland.
