Hassan Diab (sociologist)
Hassan N. Diab ( ar, حسن دياب; born November 20, 1953) is a Lebanese-Canadian citizen and sociologist who has been convicted in absentia of having planted the explosive that caused the 1980 Paris synagogue bombing. He has always countered the accusation by insisting he was in Lebanon, and has witnesses and evidence to prove it, at the time of the event. The Union Libérale Israélite de France (ULIF), commonly referred to as the rue Copernic synagogue, is a Reform Judaism, Liberal Judaism, Jewish synagogue, located in Paris, France. Inaugurated on the first of December 1907, it is the oldest Reform synagogue in France. Extradition is an action wherein one jurisdiction delivers a person accused or convicted of committing a crime in another jurisdiction, over to the other's law enforcement.
