Hannah Cotter
Hannah Cotter (born 15 July 2003) is a New Zealand field hockey player. Personal life Hannah Cotter was born in Hastings and grew up in Napier, New Zealand. Her sister, Kailtin, is also a member of the Black Sticks. Career Under–21 Cotter made her international debut for New Zealand at Under–21 level. She represented the junior squad at the 2022 Junior Oceania Cup in Canberra, where she won a silver medal. She has since been named in the 2023 National Junior Squad. Black Sticks Following a successful debut with the junior national team, Cotter made her first appearance for the Black Sticks in 2023 during a test match against Spain in Mount Maunganui. Hastings (; mi, Heretaunga) is an inland city of New Zealand and is one of the two major urban areas in Hawke's Bay, on the east coast of the North Island. Terrassa (, es, Tarrasa) is a city in the east central region of Catalonia, Spain, in the province of Barcelona, ''comarca'' of Vallès Occidental, of which it is the co-capital along with Sabadell. 2024 Women's FIH Hockey Olympic Qualifiers
The 2024 Women's FIH Olympic Qualifiers was the final stage of the qualification for the women's field hockey event at the 2024 Summer Olympics. It was held in Ranchi, India and Valencia, Spain between 13 and 20 January 2024. Belgium, Germany, Great Britain, Japan, Spain and the United States qualified for the Olympics. Format Teams not qualifying from the continental qualification tournament were participating in this tournament according to the respective spots received by the FIH. The 16 teams were split into two eight-team tournaments. In each tournament the eight teams were divided into two four-team pools. After the round-robin stage the top two teams advanced to the semifinals. The top three teams of each tournament qualified for the Olympics. Ranchi
Ranchi (, ) is the capital of the Indian state of Jharkhand. Ranchi was the centre of the Jharkhand movement, which called for a separate state for the tribal regions of South Bihar, northern Odisha, western West Bengal and the eastern area of what is present-day Chhattisgarh. Jaipal Singh Stadium
Jaipal Singh Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium located in the city of Ranchi in Jharkhand, India. It was built in 1978 and was named after the famous hockey player and captain Jaipal Singh Munda after a request was made by Birsa Seva Dal. After it was built, the infrastructure was neglected until 2013 when the Government of Jharkhand and Ranchi Municipal Corporation made plans to revamp it into a sports complex with aid from the central government. In 2008, a proposal came from the urban development minister, Raghubar Das, to make the stadium's site into a shopping complex but the plan was opposed by residents and sports lovers as well as councillors. Sport lovers and residents created "Jaipal Singh Stadium Bachao Sangharsh Samiti" to save the stadium. Wagener Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Amstelveen, Netherlands. It is currently used mostly for field hockey matches and hosted matches for the 1973 World Hockey Cup. The stadium holds 7,600 people. The complex has belonged to the Dutch Hockey Association (''""'') since 1980. Its location is the Amsterdamse Bos in Amstelveen. It was built by the Amsterdam Hockey & Bandy Club to honour its president, (1881–1945). The building was completed in 1938, one year before World War II came to Netherlands. Women's FIH Pro League
The Women's FIH Pro League is an international women's field hockey competition organised by the International Hockey Federation (FIH), which replaces the Women's FIH Hockey World League. The competition also serves as a qualifier for the Hockey World Cup and the Olympic Games. The first edition was started in 2019. Nine teams secured their places for four years. Format Nine teams will compete in a round-robin tournament with home and away matches, played from January to June, with the top four teams advancing to the grand final at a pre-determined location. In July 2017, Hockey India decided to withdraw both the men's and women's national teams from the competition as they estimated the chances of qualifying for the Summer Olympics to be higher when participating in the Hockey Series.
