Hakoah Sydney City East
Maccabi Hakoah Sydney City East FC, commonly known as Maccabi Hakoah, is an Australian semi-professional soccer club based in Sydney, New South Wales. The club was formed in 1939 as Sydney Hakoah by members of Sydney's Jewish community. They played between 1977 and 1986 in the National Soccer League as Eastern Suburbs (1977–1979) and Sydney City (1979–1987). One of the most successful sides in New South Wales and interstate competitions in the 1960s and early 1970s coached by the now retired Bob Szatmari, Hakoah were also one of the main instigators for the establishment of a national league. The club currently competes in the National Premier Leagues NSW, with games played from Hensley Athletic Field. A foundation member of the NSL, Sydney City were also its most dominant side in the competition's first decade, winning four titles, including three in a row from 1980 to 1982, and finishing below third only once. Jimmy Cant
Jim Cant (born 24 September 1953) is an Australian former soccer player. Playing career Club career Cant signed for Hearts Of Midlothian in 1970, from United Crossroads Boys Club, he was farmed out by Hearts of Midlothian to play one season of amateur football for Peebles Rovers for one season, then brought back to Tynecastle to play reserve football, making his first team debut in 1972. Heart of Midlothian. He played 66 league matches for Hearts. Jimmy requested a free transfer late 1976 and eventually got his wish Xmas 1977. The Australia Cup, formerly known as the FFA Cup until the 2021 season, is the national football knockout cup competition in Australia. Waratah Cup
The Waratah Cup is a knockout cup competition in New South Wales, run by the governing body of football in NSW, Football NSW. Teams competing in the Waratah Cup come from the National Premier Leagues NSW, National Premier Leagues NSW 2, National Premier Leagues NSW 3, National Premier Leagues NSW 4 and numerous other semi professional & amateur association clubs within New South Wales. David Mitchell (Australian Association Footballer)
David Stuart Mitchell (born 13 June 1962) is a former professional association footballer who most recently worked as head coach of Malaysian Premier League club Kedah FA. A powerful striker, he is remembered as one of the pioneers for Australian players in Europe, appearing in the Bundesliga, the Eredivisie, Scottish Premier League, Süper Lig, as well as the top-flight and second tier in England. In Asia, he played for clubs in Hong Kong and Malaysia.
