Hakkâri (city)
Hakkâri (, ku, Colemêrg), formerly known as Julamerk, is a city and district in the Hakkâri Province of Turkey. It is located about 40 kilometres from the Iraq–Turkey border, but the distance to the nearest Iraqi border crossing (Ibrahim Khalil Border Crossing) by road is about 270 km. The population of the city at the 2010 census was 57,844. This cities elevation and area spans 1,720 m tall and 2,237.19 km2 wide. Etymology Ibn Khallikan wrote in the 13th century that the word Hakkari meant 'belonging to Hakkar', a Kurdish tribe. History Hubushkia Hubushkia was an Iron Age kingdom located between the Urartian and Assyrian sphere of influence. The Turkish Women's Football Super League ( tr, Kadınlar Süper Ligi), formerly the First Women's Football League (also known as the ''Turkcell Women's Football Super League'' for sponsorship reasons), is the top level women's football league of Turkey. In the 2022–23 season, one group of 10 teams and one group of nine teams play a double round robin and finals to decide a champion club, which qualifies for a spot in the UEFA Women's Champions League. Pervin Buldan
Pervin Buldan (born 6 November 1967) is a Turkish politician. She was a member of the Democratic Society Party (DTP). She is President of Yakay-Der and one of the deputy speakers in the 26th Parliament of Turkey. On 11 February 2018, she was elected co-leader of the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) in the party's 3rd ordinary congress. Early life She was born in Hakkâri Province in 1967, where she grew up and went to school. She graduated from high school and started work as an official in the local government administration department. At the age of 19, she married Savaş Buldan. The couple moved to Istanbul in 1990, where Pervin Buldan was a full-time housewife. One year later, Pervin's first child, Necirvan, was born. Yılmaz Erdoğan (born 4 November 1967) is a Turkish filmmaker, actor and poet who is most famous for his box-office record-breaking debut comedy film '' Vizontele'' (2001) and the television series ''Bir Demet Tiyatro'' (1995–2002/2006–2007). Savaş Buldan
Savaş Buldan (1961 – 3 June 1994) was a Kurdish businessman in Turkey. He was arrested by Turkish security forces and was found dead on 4 June 1994. Life Savaş Buldan was born in Yüksekova to Şükrü Buldan (father). His brother, Nejdet Buldan, is one of the former mayors of Yüksekova for the now defunct Democracy Party. He was accused of carrying out activities in line with the Kurdistans Workers' Party (PKK) since 1979. The Public Prosecution Office launched a trial against him in connection with the incidents that took place in Yüksekova, Hakkari, in March 1979. In 1980, Savaş Buldan allegedly sheltered some members of the PKK in his house after the clashes that took place between the PKK organization and the Kurdistan National Liberators (KUK) in Kızıltepe and Diyarbakır. Hacı Karay
Hacı Karay (1950 – June 1994) was a Turkish person of Kurdish descent. He was born in Yüksekova, Hakkari, to Fehim Karay (father). On 13 February 1993, he participated in the action of closing shops in Yüksekova in support of the hunger strikes staged at Diyarbakır Prison. He had connections to Savaş Buldan. Along with fellow businessmen Savaş Buldan and Adnan Yıldırım, he was abducted by armed persons from Çınar Hotel in Yeşilyurt, İstanbul, on 3 June 1994. The abducted persons were found dead on 4 June 1994 on the road of Yukarıkaraş village of Yığılca district in Bolu. Çelik Gülersoy
Çelik Gülersoy (September 23, 1930 in Hakkâri – July 6, 2003 in Istanbul) was a Turkish lawyer, historical preservationist, writer and poet. He is best remembered for the heritage conservation works he carried out on historical sites during his long-time tenure as director general of the Touring and Automobile Club of Turkey (TTOK). He was born in Hakkâri, Turkey's most southeasterly city, where his father was working as a gendarmerie officer but the family moved to Istanbul in 1933. After completing his education in Istanbul, Gülersoy attended Istanbul University and graduated from its Law School. Following his military service in 1959–1960, he started work as a legal consultant to the TTOK in 1961, having already held several posts there since 1947. Emirate Of Hakkâri
The Emirate of Hakkâri () was a Kurdish emirate centered around the city of Hakkâri, and to the west of Lake Urmia on the border with Iran, which ruled a wide variety of peoples. At the height of its power, the emirate controlled parts of Turkish provinces of Hakkari, and Van, along with some areas in northern Iraq. The population was heterogeneous, with pastoral Kurdish tribes, Nestorian Assyrian Christians who were vassals of the Kurdish tribes, and settled Armenian farmers. The emirate did not have control or jurisdiction over the independent Assyrian tribes of Tyari, Baz, Jilu, Tkhouma, and Diz which were known as ashirets, or free men. Ali Hariri
Ali Hariri or Sheikh Ahmed Bohtani (; 1009 in Harir, Iraq, Harir – 1079/1080) was a Kurds, Kurdish poets, poet who wrote in Kurmanji and considered a pioneer in classical Kurdish Sufism, Sufi literature and a founder of the Kurdish literary tradition. Biography Hariri was born in 1009 in the village of Harir, Iraq, Harir, part of the Hakkari (historical region), Hakkâri district of Bohtan. He was first mentioned by Ahmad Khani in the 17th century, and limited information is known about him. His poetry focused on love, love for Kurdistan, its beautiful nature and the beauty of its people. The poems were popular and spread all over Kurdistan. According to historian al-Muhibbi, Muhibbî, Hariri moved to Damascus to study and had a son named Şex Ehmed (d. 1048) who possibly was a mullah and a faqih.
