Yılmaz Erdoğan
Yılmaz Erdoğan (born 4 November 1967) is a Turkish filmmaker, actor and poet who is most famous for his box-office record-breaking debut comedy film ''Vizontele'' (2001) and the television series ''Bir Demet Tiyatro'' (1995–2002/2006–2007). He founded BKM Theatre and Film Production. He was awarded the Best Supporting Actor at 4th Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts Awards for his performance in ''The Water Diviner'' (2014). Biography Yilmaz Erdoğan spent his childhood in Ankara until he moved to Istanbul along with his family. His family is of Kurdish origin. In 1987, he dropped out of his civil engineering studies at Istanbul Technical University and joined the ''On Duty Theater Staff'' ( tr, Nöbetçi Tiyatrosu) managed by Ferhan Şensoy. Hakkâri (city)
Hakkâri (, ku, Colemêrg), formerly known as Julamerk, is a city and district in the Hakkâri Province of Turkey. It is located about 40 kilometres from the Iraq–Turkey border, but the distance to the nearest Iraqi border crossing (Ibrahim Khalil Border Crossing) by road is about 270 km. The population of the city at the 2010 census was 57,844. This cities elevation and area spans 1,720 m tall and 2,237.19 km2 wide. Etymology Ibn Khallikan wrote in the 13th century that the word Hakkari meant 'belonging to Hakkar', a Kurdish tribe. Nizamettin Ariç
Nizamettin Ariç ( ku, Nîzamettîn Arîç; born 1956 in Ağrı, Turkey) is a contemporary Kurdish people, Kurdish singer, composer and director. He was exposed to traditional Kurdish bard music or ''dengbêj'' at an early age, but until 1980 was professionally active as a singer of Turkish-language folksongs, including songs that he himself had translated from Kurdish to Turkish. In 1976, he began performing for Ankara Radio. In 1979, at a concert in his hometown of Ağrı, he sang a love song in Kurdish, and was arrested for spreading propaganda. Upon finding he was to be sentenced to 5–15 years, he sought Asylum in Germany, political asylum in Germany and has resided in Berlin since. Even though he was unable to perform in Turkey, as music critic Orhan Kahyaoğlu notes, Nizamettin Ariç's recordings have been influential on musicians in Turkey, especially Kardeş Türküler (who has covered several of his songs), and film/TV music arranger Aytekin Gazi Ataş. Sheikh Said of Palu ( ku, شێخ سەعید, translit=Şêx Seîd, 1865 – June 29, 1925) was a Kurdish sheikh, the main leader of the Sheikh Said rebellion and a Sheikh of the Naqshbandi order. He was born in 1865 in Palu to an influential family from the Naqshbandi order. He had five brothers. Still in his childhood, the family settled to Hınıs, Erzurum, where his grandfather was an influential Sheikh. Sheikh Said studied religious sciences at the madrasa led by his father Sheikh Mahmud Fevzi as well from several Islamic scholars in the region. Later he was involved in the local tekke set up by his grandfather Sheikh Ali. His grandfather was a respected leader of the religious community and his grave was visited by thousands of pilgrims.
