Härliga Sommardag
For the Eurovision Song Contest 1972, Sweden chose their entrant in a national selection called Melodifestivalen 1972. About 1,000 entries were submitted, and Sveriges Radio picked 10 of them for the final. Family Four, last year's representative, won, again with "Härliga sommardag", a song written by Håkan Elmquist. Before Eurovision Melodifestivalen 1972 Melodifestivalen 1972 was the selection for the 13th song to represent Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest. It was the 12th time that this system of picking a song had been used. Approximately 1,000 songs were submitted to Sveriges Radio for the competition. The final was held in the Cirkus in Stockholm on 12 February 1972, presented by Gunilla Marcus and was broadcast on TV1 but was not broadcast on radio. Family Four
Family Four were a Sweden, Swedish pop group who recorded during the 1960s and 1970s. They were made up of Berndt Öst, Marie Bergman, Agnetha Munther and Pierre Isacsson. They won Melodifestivalen twice, in Melodifestivalen 1971, 1971 with "Vita vidder" and in Melodifestivalen 1972, 1972 with "Härliga sommardag". They went on to represent Sweden in the Eurovision Song Contest on these two occasions. They finished sixth in Eurovision Song Contest 1971, 1971 and 13th in Eurovision Song Contest 1972, 1972. They also represented their home country Sweden at the opening ceremony of the 1974 FIFA World Cup. Both Marie Bergman and Pierre Isacsson went on to successful solo careers. Björn Ulvaeus
Björn Kristian Ulvaeus (; born 25 April 1945) is a Swedish singer, songwriter, producer, a member of the musical group ABBA, and co-composer of the musicals ''Chess'', '' Kristina från Duvemåla'', and '' Mamma Mia!'' He co-produced the films '' Mamma Mia!'' and ''Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again'' with fellow ABBA member and close friend Benny Andersson. He is the oldest member of the group. Melodifestivalen (; literally "the Melody Festival") is an annual song competition organised by Swedish public broadcasters Sveriges Television (SVT) and Sveriges Radio (SR). Bert Gustav Tommy Körberg (; born 4 July 1948) is a Swedish singer, actor, and musician. English-speaking audiences know him best for his role as Anatoly/"The Russian" in the musical ''Chess''. He played the role on the 1984 concept album, and on stage in the 1986 world première West End production in London, as well as several times since. Tomas Folke Jonas Ledin (; born 25 February 1952) is a Swedish singer, songwriter, musician, and record producer. He grew up in the town of Sandviken, Sweden and has sold 3 million records. Career Tomas Ledin started his career in 1972 when his first single, "Då ska jag spela", was a big hit. Marcus Österdahl
Marcus Österdahl (born 27 January 1943, in Stockholm, Sweden), is a Swedish musical director and entrepreneur. The Telstars In 1963, Österdahl was one of the founder members of The Telstars, a pop-jazz group consisting of some of the most sought after session musicians in Sweden. They were the "house-band" in the monthly TV-Show Drop-In backing most artists in the show and were also the support act for The Beatles on their first tour of Sweden in 1963. Claes Dieden
Claes Ove Dieden (4 June 1942 – 11 March 2021) was a Swedish singer-songwriter, best known for his cover of "Da Doo Ron Ron" which became a hit in Sweden in 1969. Several of his compositions were recorded and saw commercial success by other groups. Biography Claes Dieden was born on 4 June 1942 in Stockholm, Sweden. He was grew up in the neighborhood of Östermalm, where he'd largely remain for the rest of his life. Björn Nils Olof Skifs (; born 20 April 1947) is a Swedish singer, songwriter, actor, and screenwriter. Career Björn Skifs formed his first musical group, Slam Creepers, in 1962. Slam Creepers split in 1969 and Skifs went on to form a new band, Blåblus (a farmer's or workman's shirt (blus, blouse) made from blue (blå, blue) fabric - a pun (blues)) in 1972.
