Hyderabad City Police FC, also known as City Afghans, were the most famous team in the Hyderabad Football Association. They were associated with the Hyderabad City Police during the reign of the Nizam of Hyderabad. The club was one of power houses of Indian football, praised for producing some of country's legendary players like Sayed Khwaja Aziz-ud-Din, Muhammad Noor, Syed Nayeemuddin, and Anthony Patrick, and Syed Shahid Hakim. In the 1950s, the club achieved success with their 2–3–5 formation. The Telangana Football Association (abbreviated TFA) is one of the 36 Indian State Football Associations that are affiliated to the All India Football Federation. It administers football in the state of Telangana. It also sends state teams for Santosh Trophy and Senior Women's National Football Championship. The history of football in India is a long and detailed one, as it was the national sport at one time. The impetus for this was to unify the Indian Army. Sait Nagjee Football Tournament
The Sait Nagjee All India Football Tournament is one of the most prestigious football Tournaments held in Kozhikode, Kerala, India. The tournament was very popular from the beginning & attracted large crowd since 1952. The tournament played until 1995 regularly though with stoppages a couple of times. In 1995, the tournament was won by JCT Mills. Since 1995, there was a gap of 21 years during which the tournament was not held. IFA Shield
The IFA Shield is an annual football competition organized by the Indian Football Association. The IFA is the governing body of football in the state of West Bengal, came into existence in 1893. Named after the association, the IFA Shield tournament was started in the same year. The Delhi Cloth Mills Trophy, known simply as D.C.M. Trophy, was an invitational football tournament in India. It was held annually in New Delhi and was organised by the local Delhi Football Association. It was India's first football tournament to provide the national clubs with international exposure due to participation of international clubs from Asia and Europe. History The tournament was established in 1945 by Bharat Ram and Charat Ram of the Delhi Cloth & General Mills textile conglomerate. Delhi's local teams won the first two editions; since then, clubs from Calcutta have dominated the 1950s and early 1960s, and foreign clubs since the late 1960s.
