Hutoupi Scenic Area
Hutoupi Scenic Area () is a park in Xinhua District, Tainan, Taiwan. History The park consists of a reservoir which was established in 1846 for the purpose of supplying water to the farm areas around it for irrigation. In 1954, the Literature Committee of Tainan County Government chose the park as one of the top eight wonders of Tainan County. Architecture The park features the Tiger Moon Suspension Bridge () and a pavilion at the center of the lake island. Facilities The park also features facilities such as accommodation, barbecue, bicycle renting, camping, conference room, food service etc. Transportation The park is accessible by bus from Tainan Station of Taiwan Railways. Sinhua District, United States National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (), alternatively spelled Xinhua, is a suburban district in central Tainan, Taiwan. History Before the Dutch and Han Chinese invaded, this region was home to a community of Taiwanese aborigines, the Siraya. In 1624, the VOC occupied Tayuan (modern day Anping, Tainan). In the past, the Siraya indigenous tribe called this place Tavocan ("land of hill and forest"). Tainan County was a county in southern Taiwan between 1945 and 2010. The county seat was in Sinying City. History Tainan County was established on 7 January 1946 on the territory of Tainan Prefecture () shortly after the end of World War II. In the early years, Tainan County consists of most territory of Tainan Prefecture except the territory near cities of Tainan and Kagi (Chiayi). The county is subdivide into districts (), which is reformed from Japanese districts (). The districts are divided into townships. On 16 August 1950, another division reform was implemented. Tainan () is a railway station in Tainan, Taiwan served by Taiwan Railways Administration. Situated in centre of the old town square of Tainan, Tainan Station is the main station of the city and also one of the major stations along the western trunk line in Taiwan.
