Hungary In The Eurovision Song Contest 2016
Hungary participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 with the song "Pioneer" written by Zé Szabó and Borbála Csarnai. The song was performed by Freddie (singer), Freddie. The Hungarian entry for the 2016 contest in Stockholm, Sweden was selected through the national final ''A Dal 2016'', organised by the local MTVA (Hungary), Media Services and Support Trust Fund (MTVA) and the Hungarian public broadcaster Duna Media Service. An initial 30 entries competed in the national final which consisted of six shows: three heats, two semi-final and a final. Entries were selected to advance in the competition based on the votes of a four-member judging panel as well as the votes from the public. Eight entries qualified to compete in the final of ''A Dal 2016'' where the judging panel first selected four of the entries to proceed to a second round of voting. In the second round of voting, "Pioneer" performed by Freddie was selected as the winner based entirely on a public vote. Hungary ...

Freddie (singer)
Gábor Alfréd Fehérvári (born 8 April 1990), known by his stage name Freddie, is a Hungarian singer. He first came to prominence after placing fourth in the first season of the Hungarian version of '' Rising Star''. He later became the Hungarian representative in the Eurovision Song Contest 2016. Career Freddie's grandfather was Hungarian football coach Alfréd Fehérvári (1925–2007). Freddie studied at a commercial college before his music career, and worked as an assistant in Győr. By 2010, he had not only sung but also played guitar in small bands. Freddie first performed professionally in the Hungarian version of '' Rising Star''. He reached the top twelve, then top six and then in the top four qualifiers. In the finals, he finished in fourth place. After ''Rising Star'', collaborating with András Kállay-Saunders, Freddie performed his first original song, "Mary Joe", and reached the Petőfi Radio Top 30 list. Duna (English: ''Duna Channel'', formerly: ''Duna Televízió'') is one of Hungary's public television channels. "Duna" is the Hungarian name for the Danube. Andrea "Andi" Tóth (born 18 January 1999) is a Hungarian actress and singer, most notable for winning of the fifth series of ''X-Faktor'', acting in the television show ''Válótársak'', and for participating in ''A Dal''. Huy Quang Le (born 9 December 1997), known professionally as Benji, is a Hungarian singer-songwriter, known for coming in third place in X-Faktor (Hungarian TV series), X-Faktor and his participations in A Dal 2016 and A Dal 2017, 2017. A38 is an entertainment and cultural venue on the Danube river in Budapest, Hungary, opened on 30 April 2003. Its structure repurposes a decommissioned stone-carrier ship that operated in Ukraine and is now anchored permanently to the bottom of Petőfi Bridge. Károly Frenreisz
Károly Frenreisz (born 8 November 1946, Budapest, Hungary) is a Hungarian rock singer and songwriter. Life Frenreisz first studied piano and then learned to play the clarinet, saxophone, and bass. He was from 1965 to 1971 part of the band Metró. The most famous song he wrote while in the band was ''Citromízű banán''. He played a significant role in getting Metró through the end of the sixties and being part of the era of modern experimental trends in music. In 1971, he was a founding member of the band Locomotiv GT, where he was the bassist, brass player, and lead singer. Zséda
Adrienn Zsédenyi (born 30 December 1974), known as Zséda, is a Hungarian Music Awards, Fonogram and EMeRTon award-winning Hungarian singer. Life Zseda grew up in Szentes and attended the Mihály Horváth Secondary School where she joined drama and literature groups. At 15 years of age, she studied singing with Olga Sík and also learnt to play the violin. Zseda acted at the Arany János Theatre, Independent Theatre, Krétakör Theatre, and New Theatre. Csilla Tatár
Csilla Tatár (born 27 May 1983) is a Hungarian reporter and presenter. Life Tatár made her first appearance in 1996, at the age of 13, when she recited a poem on Duna TV. Since 2002, she has been a reporter and editor. In 2009, she graduated from the Budapest Metropolitan University College of Communication and Business.
