Benji (singer)
Huy Quang Le (born 9 December 1997), known professionally as Benji, is a Hungarian singer-songwriter, known for coming in third place in X-Faktor (Hungarian TV series), X-Faktor and his participations in A Dal 2016 and A Dal 2017, 2017. Life He was born 9 December 1997 in Budapest. His parents are Vietnamese. Since his childhood, he has held an interest in music and plays several instruments. In 2014, he participated in the fifth series of X-Faktor and was included in the subsequent webcast by mentor Róbert Alföldi. In addition to approval by the three judges, he was a fourth competitor in his class. Benji became one of the contenders to potentially win. Benji eventually finished the race and was named the best in the male group in that season of X-Faktor, in third place. In the summer of 2015, he released his first self-titled song, ''Atmosphere''. ''X-Faktor'' is the Hungary, Hungarian version of ''The X Factor (TV series), The X Factor'', a show originating from the United Kingdom. It is a television music talent show contested by aspiring pop singers drawn from public auditions. The show premiered in 2010 and it continues its success nowadays in the eleventh series. Hungary participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 with the song "Pioneer" written by Zé Szabó and Borbála Csarnai. The song was performed by Freddie (singer), Freddie. The Hungarian entry for the 2016 contest in Stockholm, Sweden was selected through the national final ''A Dal 2016'', organised by the local MTVA (Hungary), Media Services and Support Trust Fund (MTVA) and the Hungarian public broadcaster Duna Media Service. An initial 30 entries competed in the national final which consisted of six shows: three heats, two semi-final and a final. Entries were selected to advance in the competition based on the votes of a four-member judging panel as well as the votes from the public. Eight entries qualified to compete in the final of ''A Dal 2016'' where the judging panel first selected four of the entries to proceed to a second round of voting. Hungary participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2017. The local Media Services and Support Trust Fund (MTVA) and the Hungarian broadcaster Duna Media Service organised the national final ''A Dal 2017'' in order to select the Hungarian entry for the 2017 contest in Kyiv, Ukraine. Background Prior to the 2017 contest, Hungary had participated in the Eurovision Song Contest fourteen times since its first entry in . Róbert Alföldi (born 22 November 1967) is a Hungarian actor, director and television host. He was the director of the Hungarian National Theater for five years from 1 July 2008 until 2013. He is best known for his numerous controversial theatrical adaptations as a director and for his television appearance in ''X-Faktor''. His art was rewarded with several national prizes and professional recognitions.
