Geography Huff is located in the West-central portion of Edmonson County at the junction of Kentucky Routes 70 and 187. It is located about west-northwest of Brownsville. The community is located along Bear Creek, a tributary of the Green River. Kentucky Route 70 (KY 70) is a long east-east state highway that originates at a junction with U.S. Route 60 (US 60) in Smithland in Livingston County, just east of the Ohio River. The route continues through the counties of Crittenden, Caldwell, Hopkins, Muhlenberg, Butler, Edmonson, Barren, Barren, Metcalfe, Green, Taylor, Casey, Pulaski, Lincoln and back into Pulaski again to terminate at a junction with US 150 near Maretburg in Rockcastle. Sunfish is an unincorporated community located in the northwest corner of Edmonson County, Kentucky, United States, near the Grayson County line. It is approximately north-northeast of Bowling Green. Sunfish is part of the Bowling Green Metropolitan Statistical Area. History The Sunfish community is named for Sunfish Creek, a secondary tributary of the Green River which joins Bear Creek to drain the watershed of West-Central Edmonson County. The community was established prior to the 1825 formation of Edmonson County in the section of Edmonson which was originally part of Grayson County. Many of the settlers were Revolutionary War and War of 1812 veterans and included several Catholic families. Edmonson County High School
Edmonson County High School is a four year high school located in Brownsville, Kentucky, United States. It is the only high school serving the Edmonson County School system. History The school was established in 1959 following the consolidation of all the rural high schools throughout Edmonson County. The original location was at 191 West Center Street, which was home of the Edmonson County Middle School from 1981 until summer 2004, and is now the current location of the Edmonson County Fifth/Sixth Grade Center since 2004. The current Edmonson County High School was completed in 1981. In the early 2000s, the decision was made to expand the high school facility and to construct a new Middle School next to the high school. Kentucky Route 187 (KY 187) is a north–south state highway that traverses Edmonson and Grayson counties in west-central Kentucky. Route description The highway begins at an intersection with KY 70 at the unincorporated community of Huff, which is located almost halfway between Roundhill and Brownsville.
