As of December 2021, there were 130 Hotel Indigo properties featuring 16,343 rooms worldwide. History The first Hotel Indigo opened in Atlanta, Georgia in October 2004 and a second location opened in the historic Gold Coast neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois in May 2005 (later going into foreclosure and re-branding as the Claridge House). The brand's first non-US property debuted in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada (which later went independent from the InterContinental brand). In July 2019 at the Traverse City, Michigan Hotel Indigo, a murder-suicide occurred inside room 318, only blocks away from the National Cherry Festival. The Falcon Hotel
The Falcon Hotel (branded as the Hotel Indigo since 2019) is a grade II* listed hotel, with origins in the early 16th century on Chapel Street in the centre of Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire, England. The half-timbered building was originally a single storey house, built around 1500. The second floor was added around 1645. In 1655-61 it was recorded as an inn, which makes it the oldest continuously licensed premises in Stratford. From 1834, The Royal Shakespeare Club held its annual dinner there. It gained grade II* listing in 1951. The Branicki Residential House is an eclectic-style historic building dating back to 1903, located on Smolna Street in Warsaw, Poland. National Cherry Festival
The National Cherry Festival is a food festival in Traverse City, Michigan. It began in 1925 as the Blessing of the Blossoms Festival, which was held in early May to attract tourists to Northern Michigan to view the blooming cherry blossoms. In 1931 the Michigan Legislature renamed the festival the National Cherry Festival, and moved the event to the summer. History The first cherry trees in the region were planted on the Old Mission Peninsula in 1852 by Rev. Peter Dougherty. Commercial orchard production of cherries began in 1893 near Old Mission.
