Hossein Saveh-Shemshaki
Hossein Saveh Shemshaki ( fa, حسین ساوه شمشكی, born August 5, 1985, in Tehran) is an alpine skier from Iran. He, along with his brother, Pouria Saveh-Shemshaki, competed for Iran at the 2010 Winter Olympics. His best result in the Winter Olympic Games is 41st place in the Alpine skiing at the 2010 Winter Olympics – Men's slalom, slalom. He was chosen as Iran's Flag Bearer for the 2014 Winter Olympics, 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics and 2017 Asian Winter Games, 2017 Sapporo Asian Winter Games. One of the best performances of Saveh Shemshaki in international competitions was winning a gold medal in the slalom and a silver medal in the giant slalom at the 2015 Asian Alpine Ski Championships. Iran At The 2017 Asian Winter Games
Iran competed in the 2017 Asian Winter Games in Sapporo, Japan from February 19 to 26. The country competed in one sport (two disciplines). Alpine skier Hossein Saveh-Shemshaki was the country's flagbearer during the parade of nations at the opening ceremony. Iran was scheduled to enter a cross-country skiing team. Yongpyong Resort
Yongpyong (Dragon Valley) Ski Resort is a ski resort in South Korea, located in Daegwallyeong-myeon, Pyeongchang, Gangwon-do. It is the largest ski and snowboard resort in Korea, and offers golf in the summer months. A 1949 news article covered a ski slope in Daegwallyeong, which had only the ski slope at that time. Yongpyong's first ski lift was built in 1975. In 1981, a Korean company called Ssangyong Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd bought the owner(유국개발) of Yongpyong Resort, and in turn obtained the resort. SsangYong began to experience financial difficulties from the 1997 Asian financial crisis. In 2003, Segye Ilbo, which is owned by the Unification Church, bought Yongpyong Resort. The 2011 Asian Winter Games ( kz, 2011 жылғы қысқы Азия ойындары, 2011 jılğı qısqı Azïya oyındarı) was a multi-sport event that was held in Nur-Sultan, Astana and Almaty, Kazakhstan, that began on January 30, 2011, and ended on February 6, 2011. It was the first time that Kazakhstan hosted such a large event since independence from the Soviet Union. The documents for the hosting city were signed in Kuwait on March 4, 2006.
