Horsens Idræts Club Basketball, commonly known as Horsens IC or Horsens, is a professional basketball team based in Horsens, Denmark. The club plays at the Forum Horsens, which can accommodate 4,000 people. Basketligaen
The Basketligaen ( en, The Basketball League) is the highest professional basketball league in Denmark. The original men's first division was founded in 1957 and the current league was founded in 1998. All-time record holder in league titles is Bakken Bears, which has captured 18 titles in its history. BMS is the only team with 5 titles in a row, starting in 1986 through 1990. The main TV partner of the league is Sport Live. The league consists of 10 teams, with no relegation rules. Kevin Larsen (basketball)
Kevin Ricki Larsen (born July 17, 1993) is a Danish basketball player for Movistar Estudiantes of the LEB Oro. Standing at 2.08 m (6 ft 10 in), he either plays as power forward or center. Larsen played college basketball for the George Washington Colonials. Professional career On August 6, 2016, Larsen signed his first contract with French side Lille Métropole. In January 2017, he signed with ProA side Mitteldeutscher BC. With Mitteldeutscher, he won the championship and gained promotion to the Basketball Bundesliga (BBL), the German first tier. Basketball is a team sport in which two teams, most commonly of five players each, opposing one another on a rectangular court, compete with the primary objective of shooting a basketball (approximately in diameter) through the defender's hoop (a basket in diameter mounted high to a backboard at each end of the court, while preventing the opposing team from shooting through their own hoop. 2018–19 Basketligaen
The 2018–19 Basketligaen was the 44th season of the highest professional basketball tier in Denmark. The season started on 25 September 2018 and ended on 13 May 2019. Bakken Bears defended its title. Ryan Evans of the Bears was named the season's Most Valuable Player. Competition format Teams were divided into two groups: Pro A, joined by the best five teams in the previous season, and Pro B, by the rest of the team. Each team would play against each other of their same league four times, while only twice with teams from the other side. The five teams of Pro A and the best three of Pro B qualified for playoffs. The 2017–18 Basketligaen was the 43rd season of the highest professional basketball tier in Denmark. The season started on 20 September 2017 and ended on 7 May 2018. Bakken Bears was the defending champion, and won the championship again after beating Horsens IC in the play-off finals. Competition format In the regular season, teams played against each other four times home-and-away in double a round-robin format. The eight teams advanced to the playoffs. Teams Wolfpack returned to the Basketligan after a two-year absence. They replaced SISU, which was the last qualified in the previous season and therefore relegated. The 2016–17 Basketligaen was the 42nd season of the highest professional basketball tier in Denmark. The season started on September 30, 2016 and ended on May 8, 2017. Bakken Bears won its 15th title after defeating Horsens IC 4–1 in the Finals. Teams Competition format The participating teams first played a round-robin schedule with every team playing each opponent twice home and twice away for a total of 28 games. The top six teams qualified for the championship playoffs whilst the two last qualified were relegated to Division 1. Myles Mack
Myles Mack (born February 25, 1993) is an American professional basketball player for MKE Ankaragücü of the Turkish Basketball First League. He played college basketball at Rutgers University. He plays the point guard position. High school career Mack played high school basketball at Paterson Catholic High School for his first three seasons. During his junior season, he helped Paterson Catholic achieve a 28–1 record and at one point the number 3 rank in the national polls. He scored a total of 979 points there. The school then closed after the 2010 academic school year, leading Mack to transfer to well-renowned St. Anthony High School located in Jersey City and play under head coach Bob Hurley. Skyler Bowlin (born July 7, 1989) is an American professional basketball player for the Bakken Bears of the Danish Basketligaen. Bowlin plays at both the point guard and shooting guard positions. Egill Jónasson
Egill Jónasson (born 1 June 1984) is an Icelandic former basketball player and a former member of the Icelandic national basketball team. During his career he won the Icelandic championship and Icelandic Basketball Cup with Njarðvík. Variously listed as 216-218 cm, he is one of the tallest basketball players in Iceland's history.
