Hong Kong Christian Industrial Committee
The Hong Kong Christian Industrial Committee ( Chinese: 香港基督教工業委員會, also called as HKCIC) is a non-governmental pressure group that focuses on labor welfare policy and industrial safety. The group was founded in 1966, originally as a unit of the Hong Kong Christian Council, and became an auxiliary organization later to gain more independence. Its predecessor was the Christian Industrial Evangelism Committee, which was a study group formed in 1961. Its special focus in 2001 was on the working conditions of toy workers for Hasbro, Mattel, McDonald's and Disney in Southern China. Since then the group has not published any more recent content on its website. Active members include Rev. The Hong Kong Christian Council (Also known as HKCC; ) is a Protestant Christian ecumenical organization founded in Hong Kong in 1954. It is a member of the World Council of Churches and the Christian Conference of Asia. Chu Yiu-ming (, born 10 January 1944 in Hong Kong) is the minister of Chai Wan Baptist Church in Hong Kong. He is one of the founders of the Occupy Central campaign for universal suffrage in the 2017 Hong Kong Chief Executive election. Occupy Central With Love And Peace
Occupy Central with Love and Peace (OCLP) was a single-purpose Hong Kong civil disobedience campaign initiated by Reverend Chu Yiu-ming, Benny Tai and Chan Kin-man on 27 March 2013. The campaign was launched on 24 September 2014, partially leading to the 2014 Hong Kong protests. According to its manifesto, the campaign advocates for an electoral system in Hong Kong that is decided through a democratic process and satisfies international standards of universal and equal suffrage. With the first three stages of the movement – dialogue, deliberation and citizens' authorization – the civil disobedience that follows must be non-violent. The Hong Kong Confederation of Trade Unions (HKCTU) was a pro-democracy labour and political group in the Hong Kong. It was established on 29 July 1990. It had 160,000 members in 61 affiliates (mainly trade unions in various sectors) and representation in the Legislative Council of Hong Kong (LegCo) to challenge government policies and push for legal protection of worker and trade union rights.
